Ahhhh, this is it!! This was playing in some shop I was in in Shanghai the other day and I forgot to shazam it on my phone and thought I'd never find it again.

Glad to be of service!

Here's a nice track from the returning Anushka proving that lovers rock still has a few tricks.

Loving the new Turnstile track titled Blackout from their newly released Glow On album. Has some Fugazi vibes to the tune:

This album is so damn good. Can't stop listening to it. It sort of has a bit of everything and is my current shout for the best of the year.

Came to post about this album, I think I mentioned a few weeks back they had something coming out soon and holy crap I wasnt sure if they'd better Time & Space but if this hasn't managed that then it's really fucking close!

I need to hear how it holds up to repeat listenings as I still regularly listen to their previous album.

Album of the year for me so far, so good.

Check this out.

Really enjoying SUUNS new album, The Witness, really loved their Fiction EP last year too, can hardly believe this is the same band that used to sound like such shameless Clinic rip-offs, now they sound nothing like them, even Ben Shemie’s vocals now just sound really distinctive and like him, his last solo album was decent also, but this new SUUNS album is probably the best thing they’ve done, just a really evolved out there sound.

Really enjoying Big Red Machine’s new album. Justin Vernon is one of those performers who I adore when he gets it right but also frustrates me when he gets it wrong. The first Bon Iver release being a case of the former and his use of vocal sound effects being a case of the latter.

Anyway, the BRM album is really good and there are some decent guests vocalists used effectively. Including Taylor Swift.

However, this slice of upbeat Americana  with Fleet Foxes and Anais Mitchell is great. And the second video has the random lyrics, emotional vocal delivery and urgency that the best Vernon songs have.

I think the album peters out towards the end but the first 2/3 are decent.

Is everyone aware Low’s new album is out today? I adore Low.

You beat me by an hour! Listening on a delayed train home. All the awesome noise madness of the last album with a bit more melody thrown in. Been some absolute crackers out in the last few weeks!

It’s a gorgeous album. At first like you say it’s knocks you over the head with its sheer noise, opening with White Horses, but further listens reveal familiar beautiful harmonies and musical intricacies. I find it very calming and therapeutic - great to drift  off to, music by osmosis.

Anyone listening to the new album from Kacey Musgraves - Star Crossed?

I loved Same Trailer, Different Park and also Golden Hour, and thought  Pageant Material had its moments. Her Christmas album is great.

Anyway, this definitely feels like another step away from the country music world towards pop music.

From the first few listens, there are some catchy tunes on here - Justified is a real earworm and Simple Times was firmly lodged in my head over the weekend.
