A lot of people are going to be going on about how great the new St Vincent album is, and they’re not wrong, we’re talking Prince levels of craftsmanship here (craftwomanship?) it’s fucking beautiful.

Oh man, I mean I don’t know whether you’re a fan, I am massively so, but I’d say it’s her best work after a couple of listens, it’s so good :)

Got all her stuff and seen her live twice, so I know what I'm getting myself into! :) Otherwise I normally like to try before I buy, but I've gone in blind with this one. Saw it was coming out and pre-ordered instantly

Arr you gonna love it, I reckon so anyway. I’m going to try and find a vinyl copy tomorrow.

Sons Of Kemet new album Black To The Future, it out today. Another incredible release and think it might top their last album Your Queen is a Reptile, which was Mercury Prize nominated.

Oh shit. I love the last one. Didn't realise this was out

It hits its straps once it gets past the first third I reckon. I'm an horrendous snob, but loads of those opening tracks have been reissued and played to death over the last couple of years which is a bit of a shame. In fact, a lot of the DJ Kicks have become a bit of a greatest hits lap of honour rather than a forward facing selection. Again, super unbelievably snobby as it's only a mix series after all. It's still enjoyable.

That Florence Adooni track is on her Bandcamp. I'd not seen it in stock at the usual places.

I think that EP is the closest Ashong has come to an album so far. He's so talented and seems to skirt around the scene a bit and guest a lot, but I think he's got a masterpiece in him somewhere. It was a weird release as I just saw it on Juno one day, and for months it seemed to be just me and about 2 other people who had it on Discogs for some reason. For the people involved and the quality I would have thought it would have been quite sought after.

Love that Potatohead People tune!

So good. Did you listen to his and Andrew Ashong's EP from last year? Some brilliant stuff on there.

Not connected, but this 7" is great. Posting before I forget to.

These are both excellent, any more like that greatly appreciated :)
