I think we can all agree the PS2 isn’t retro but I very much enjoyed the feature.

I think plenty of us wouldn't agree with that. It's 21 years old.

If that's not old enough to be retro than on launch Retro Gamer would basically have been 116 pages of Pong console retrospective.

More seriously it's really easy to forget that Retro Gamer magazine is very nearly old enough to drink.

I hate myself for saying this but there are quite a few subbing errors in the issue – incorrect use of apostrophes etc. Always interrupts my flow when I'm reading.

Unfortunately we have a week less to work on the mag over Christmas, so it's always a mad rush.

Even using the metric of saying the PS2 was still being made 8 years ago so can't be retro doesn't help. By that metric when the PS2 came out you couldn't call the c64 retro because it had been in production only 6-7 years prior to it :D

As we have seen the German Retrogamer has current gen 4 page spreads so we should thank our lucky stars for @striderand his great mag :D

Now put more c64 content in or I'll whine.

I still remember when 16-bit machines and their games were definitely not considered retro gaming. :blah: No joke. And that was when the C64C had barely been out of production!
