Same idea as for video gaming in Discussion, anyone up for tracking how much board gaming truly costs them?  If nothing else, it'll be good to see what others are buying for idea, etc.

Sagrada: Promo 4 and Promo 5 - £11.85

Patchwork: Button Upgrade - £8.93

Watergate - Change in History Promo - £4.97

Patchwork Automa - £13.89

Tussie Mussie - £13.54

I've *got* to discourage my spending this year.  So I'll track mine here.  Public Shame will be the motivator that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

So far: £30 on backing Alba on Kickstarter.  (It isn't boardgame per se, it's a glorified choose your own adventure book, vut it'll count in my "analogue gaming spending" tally).

Unusually, I have actually *sold* something too. (Dominare) for £25, so net spend is not too bad.

Wingspan + European and Oceania expansion - £97.66

Gone all in at once, huh?  Had you played it before, or just done that based on all the glowing reviews?  I hope you haven't ended up being one of the few people that don't get on with it!

I've played it a few times both in real life before last March and online on TTS since - I knew it would go down well with my only gaming buddy nowadays my 9yr old who is animal daft. The expansions I hadn't played but looking around they add more to the game without too much complexity and the newest one actually re-balances the game a bit.

I haven't played a great deal yet as my wife is not very patient at learning new games, but I'll have to take a look at the expansions if and when it does click with her.  I thought they were purely extra cards for the different regions, not rule tweaks as well.

This is a safe place right? No judgement? I'm gonna do this as a way of keeping track myself, I know I spend far too much on games and want to cut it down, maybe doing this will be a way to see exactly what I spend on a monthly basis.

Okay just so you know this is not indicitave of my usual month by a long shot but I have spent a lot this month. Two very expensive ones I had money aside for. I'll add on a kickstarter that is guaranteed to come out my bank this month too.

Purchases

Tiny epic defenders and schotten totten - £20 from here/rllmuk
Bloodborne blood moon pledge £190 w/ postage/insurance from Facebook group
Nova luna - £21.50 from Boards and Dice
Honey buzz and upgrade pack - £67.50 from State of play
Barenpark bad news bears, barenpark folded space insert, spirit island insert and isle of cats insert - £58.12 from Gameslore
Wasp marvel champions pack - £14.32 from Gameslore
2 x welcome to expansions, king domino duel, infinity gauntlet love letter game and scythe modular board - £52.24 from Zatu

Kickstarter
Geeknson kickstarter for extra table parts £217
Postage for creature comforts £9.18
Still to pay for darwins journey collectors edition (28th Jan) £63
Total - £712.74

Birthday month too so got (without paying for) Spirit Island Branch and Claw, Scythe metal coins, Fallout Shelter, Caverna Forgotten Folk, Tapestry Plans and Ploys and the Caverna folded space insert...

That's a bargain, @Professor Rob. Where was that?

Last year I spent far too much on physical board games, considering I haven't been able to play any of them since my regular group went fully online.

This month I have purchased:

Hansa Teutonica: £36.23

Super Skill Pinball: 4-cade: £22.73

Technically I paid for HT just before Christmas, but it's only just come into stock so I'm counting it as this month's expenditure. SSP is a present for someone else.

I got it in the Travelling Man sale, in the few days they managed to open between Christmas and lockdown. It would have been £20, but I had a pound on my loyalty card.

Technically it was still in 2020, but I'm counting it as this year.

I backed that too after telling myself repeatedly that I have to stop backing kickstarter campaigns...

Shall we tell one another not to?  Like supportive members within a 12 step programme.

it’s not been in there for over a decade now.

I've been gone for too long :( So many great memories of that shop. Finding an old Rogue Trader for 4 quid, getting my first copy of Kult, buying my Citizens Liberation of Itinerant Tree dwellers tshirt....

Preordered Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver for Marvel Champions for £26.60 which brings January's total up to £739.34

I'm done for the month and dont have intentions of picking up any new games for the foreseeable future, Kickstarters should hopefully see me through the next few months as at least a couple are due each month. I will preorder whatever Marvel Champions stuff comes out though and i really need to order a whole bunch of mayday premium sleeves for it as i started sleeving it in FFG sleeves and they no longer exist but otherwise I'm hopefully done for a while.

Fingers crossed nothing exciting comes to kickstarter!

@MunkienutThat is sterling work, well done.

I really daren't post in this thread even though the year has started quite well as I've sold quite a number of games here and elsewhere and even managed to not immediately spend the paypal balance on new games.

I have bought Thousand Year Old Vampire, Those Dark Places RPG book and backed 2 Kickstarters, Darwin's Voyage and Carnegie, but I don't think any of that counts really.

Edit: 30th Jan 2021

I'll need to add prices later but today I've bought Cloud City, a 3d tile laying game from Phil Walker-Harding, Keyflower The Merchants and preordered Hadrian's Wall by Garphill Games. Possibly got Shakespeare + expansion from Facebook but also sold a load of stuff so I'm still feeling virtuous. A good day. :)

January spend:

ISS Vanguard KS £72

Tainted Grail - from eBay the base game + 2 expansions £107

Total £179

January commitments

Alba KS £30

Primal KS -sitting on an early day pledge for this but might cancel next week. If this had been an American project I wouldn't have backed it at all.

The good news is that there is nothing in retail I feel I need just now, and just a couple of pre-orders in (Obsession and Sleeping Gods) which will be paid for on arrival.

Where did you get this @jonnyalpha, if you don't mind me asking? I'd only seen it direct from the creators site but the shipping from the US was killing it for me...
