Quick March update for me;

March:

Arkham Horror - Into the Maelstrom Mythos Pack £14.28

March total: £14.28

Year total: £255.57

And with that last Mythos pack hopefully my spending's going to slow down a bit for the next few months. Until they release the next Arkham Return To box in June. And the next cycle the end of the year. And whatever new stand-alone investigators they decided to release. And the stand alone campaign. :omg:

So far its just been one Preorder and some Kickstarters this month for me and given the other KS/Pledge managers that are due to come out this month I'll probably refrain from buying anything else, not that I need anything else (although Ruins of Arnak is top of my list at the moment so I may cave and pick that up...). On the plus side hopefully KS are starting to appear and in the next few weeks I should see the remainder of my Marvel United Infinity pledge, Canvas, Agropolis with Sprawlopolis and Tiny Epic Pirates with a few others hopefully not that much further out (Railroad Ink Challenge, Mint Control/Delivery, Terraforming Mars Big box)

Edit - Managed to grab Lost Ruins of Arnak for £34.81 from Amazon EU, by the time i told my friend about it it had gone back up to £63, lucky find!!

Jan and Feb total - £980.86

Red Rising - £34.40 for collectors edition delivered (amazing price IMO, was expecting to pay a LOT more!)

Terraforming Mars Ares Expedition - Game and 4 play mats pledge £46.43 + £16.36 delivery

Endless Winter Paleoamericans - £96.32 for the Shaman Pledge and Big box delivered

Lost Ruins of Arnak - £34.81

Tiny Epic Dungeons All in gameplay pledge - £39.83 (think that includes shipping)

Current March Total - £268.14

Still to be paid for in March

Everdell, Two expansions, big box, resource holders and wooden ever tree - £107 (will come out on completion of the KS, although the PM will charge tax and shipping which will likely be close to another £50 - I'll add that part when the PM completes)

Streets - Late pledge for base game £23 plus whatever shipping works out at.

Silverwood Grove - £31 when KS ends, shipping in future PM

Toying with backing Eternal Palace too...

Still to be paid for in future

Still waiting for pledge mangers to open for Mariana Trench, 7th Citadel, Darwins Journey plus the ones that complete in March (Everdell, Silverwood Grove and TEDu)

Have some accessories to pay shipping for for my Geeknson table which i suspect will be heavy and likely cost around 100 to ship...

Just as I was about to stop buying games for a while, the English version of The Quest For El Dorado has popped up on Amazon.  Must resist....

But then it might go out of stock again.

Been several KS pledges been needing tidied up so far this month, that Everdell pledge ended up insanely expensive after tax and shipping. Also managed to snag a couple of bargains from Amazon, £33 for Rising Sun was an amazingly good price I couldn't pass up, not my style of game and certainly not my fiancées but hopefully will get to play it at 3 when we can finally meet up with friends. Seems a bunch of people who ordered it got it cancelled. Mine turned up the next day which is surprising as it was from Zatu through amazon and they ain't usually that quick! Not sure how well the Crew will play at 2 but for 9 quid couldn't turn it down given the insanely positive buzz its had.

April

KS TEDu - $26 (£19.53 tax and add on meeples)

KS Everdell £48.86 (tax and shipping)

Late pledge Streets £23

KS Eternal Palace £1 (Still undecided if I'll go for this)

Rising sun £33 from Amazon

The Crew £9 from Amazon

April total so far £134.39

So far I've backed the Robinson Crusoe upgrade pack on gamefound and will back the Canvas expansion and Marvel United Xmen Kickstarters when they launch mid april and try leave it at that for the month.

April most likely done:

Cantaloop £20 (very good point and click analogue, but unbelievably I'm stuck already and determined not to look at the hints)

Aons end the most recent one £50 monthly impulse buy with above, will probably regret

Alba KS postage £9

Castle von Loghan postage £21 - this is one of my first KS projects from 3 years ago, finally in manufacture owing to lots of work being needed to bring it into shape, not any malfeasance.

Legendary Kingdoms KS both books £35

John Company KS £60

Total for month £192

Cumulative total £897

Commitments for May

Hexplore Vol IV $160 at present, for all new material (worth every penny)

Several pledge managers will go live

Hopefully no impulse buys and no new KS projects in May :quote:  Pre-orders are as ever totally unpredictable.

Lol

I know, flying pigs and all that.  However, I'm moderately confident that expenditures will drop off*, simply because (a) there is so much here right now and more coming through the KS pipeline shortly and (b) nothing in the backlists appeals ¥.  I skimmed some of the SUaSD paid promotion vids and nothing really stood out there either except the free form Western game, but that's not for soloists.

*apart from planned pre-orders and residual postage etc

¥ Probably famous last words and some extraordinary dungeon crawler will emerge from the darkest European depths, and I will choke to death eating my woollen beanie.

January: £58.96

Then nothing, until now! I popped into town today for the first time in a long time, and went to see a new FLGS that had opened up. Had a lovely chat with the owner and couldn't leave without buying something, so I picked up a copy of Fort to play with my kids.

Fort: £27

2021 Total so far: £85.96

I'm going to do this properly now. I feel like I'm still ahead. I have money in my paypal fund from boardgame sales and am selling more games at the minute. I also dropped out of the Carnegie KS. I was worried the game wouldn't be good with 2 but it appears to run very long with 3+ so I cancelled my pledge. This mean my total expenditure so far this year is:

January 2021

Those Dark Places RPG book £10.21

Thousand Year Old Vampire   £43

Darwin's Journey (KS) £62.58 (70 euro)

Hadrian's Wall pre-order £43.98

Cloud CIty £21.78

Ginkgopolis £36.95

Great Western Trail £31.95

Keyflower: The Farmers + Beekeeper promo tile £25

Keyflower: The Merchants £24.79

Senet Magazine issues 1,3 and 4 £23.89

Total for January: £324.13

So I finally got round to counting up all my purchases. I think I was putting it off. This gets us up to date:

Red Cathedral £25

Funfair £32
Mafiozoo £12
Darwins Journey All in upgrades £54
Fjords Kickstarter £33
The Magnificent £32
Sno Expansion £25
Yellow & Yangtze app £8.99
Coloma £34
American Kingdoms expansion for Santa Maria £30
Teotihuacan Expansion Period £28
Teotihuacan Shadow of Xtile £17.50
Great Western Trail Expansion £18.99
Quacks Expansion: The Alchemists £17.95
Holders for Quacks pieces and spellbooks + general table organiser £32
Keyper at Sea (kickstarter)£46
Transmissions (kickstarter) £39
John Company 2nd Edition (kickstarter) £57.50
Caverna: Cave vs Cave £16.50
Caverna:Frantic Fiends (pre order) £28
Anno 1800 (pre order) £44
Paladins of the West Kingdom Expansion (kickstarter) £19
Theurgy (kickstarter) £69
Stroganov Deluxe (kickstarter) £52
Rome & Roll Gladiators Expansion (kickstarter) £20

£773.43 total for Feb, March and April.

Total for year = £1093.56

Edit: And I forgot stuff, which I feel is a bad sign.

Lost Ruins of Arnak £35

The Staufer Dynasty £20

Golden Temples (El Dorado expansion) £19

Caverna: Forgotten Folk £19

Corto expansion + Santa Maria Exploration Deck promo £15

So another £108

Making a grand total of £1237.91

Edit: And another thing I forgot.

A Concordia expansion map. Balearic/Cyprus £15.48

Total: £1,253.39

Woo, congrats on the new job @Professor RobGreat news and great reward to yourself! :)

So April's been a month with so many kickstarters and pledge managers opening but think they are done for the month and no intentions of getting anything else this month so this will be my final April count.

April

KS TEDu - $26 (£19.53 tax and add on meeples)

Rising sun £33 from Amazon

The Crew £9 from Amazon

KS Everdell £48.86 (tax and shipping)

Late pledge Streets £23

KS Eternal Palace £1 (Still undecided if I'll go for this)

Wingspan present for someone so not sure if it counts SMG Champion price delivered £35

Robinson Crusoe Veteran upgrade pack Gamefound £69.70 (Still to pay delivery and taxes)

Pendulum £30 delivered

Clash of Deck KS €2 (£1.74)

Silverwood Grove AUS$14 (£7.82)

Darwins Journey PM €30 (£26.08) Added the mini expansions and sleeves and delivery cost.

7th Citadel PM €80 (£69.55) Upgraded to gameplay All in and added sleeves and extra leaflets plus delivery costs.

Total so far £371.28

Still to be paid for in future

Canvas Reflections pledge $35 + $13
Xmen united pledge $565 + $17 (currently everything available plus the old stuff I don't have plus an extra base pledge for a friend - will increase with more expansions/accessories...).
Transmissions $54
Robinson Crusoe PM- £Unknown
Geeknson delivery fee for some table accessories - £Unknown

With the price of the X-men KS and the other two ill honestly be trying very hard not to buy anything else for a while. I'm intending to stay off Kickstarter for a while and try not to get caught up in any hype for other games. My exceptions will be if I find Spirit Island Jagged Earth, New York Zoo or Potion Explosion, games that I want but haven't been able to find, the latter two have been tough to find for a long time.

By way of celebration at getting a job after being out of work for four months, I've treated myself to Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. £40.95.

Running total: £59.95

Congratulations. You've got yourself a real treat there as a reward.  I think the character specific scenarios are up there with the best of Gloomhaven to date.

A couple of pledge managers dealt with, so they won't feature in May, and also I pledged £57 for 7 Moons Heroes of Dragon Reach which is made by Gunpowder Studios - the South London outfit which made Bag of Dungeon - and which is going into April's total because I don't want to eat my hat just yet.

Amended April Total £291 £234

Year to date total £996 £939

Edit - overnight decided to cancel the KS pledge - they are still comfortably above the target.  Gotta start somewhere.
