Best HDMI cable for PS1 / PS2

A good RGB scart cable and https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00W9DJMNC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Would be my approach.  One of the few cheap HDMI creators that doesn't add horrible lag.

These are one of the worst scalers you can get in terms of image quality and lag.

I would recommended buying a RetroTink 2X and the appropriate cable. Scart or Component.

Yes, it's more expensive but it will treat 240p / 480i correctly with zero lag. There's no cheap magic bullet, you get what you pay for.

I have had pretty disappointing results with the Retrotink 2X-SCART and 480i content, it looks fuzzy and the image is not very bright. I think the latter has been fixed in the latest firmware for the 2X but it's not out for the 2X-SCART yet. There is however no detectable lag on a good screen when compared to a CRT as far as I can see.

PS1 + HDMI = this for the absolute best: https://www.black-dog.tech/ps1digital.html

However it's expensive, it needs someone who's good at soldering to install it, and it's rarely in stock. It is the absolute best HDMI solution for PS1 though, without a doubt. I have one and it's phenomenal (as is the DCDigital - the Dreamcast version from the same bloke). Can't get better than this short of Sony re-releasing the original hardware with built-in HDMI compatibility, which isn't ever going to happen.

Bit cheaper/not as good but honestly who notices this stuff is the RAD2X https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/SONY-PLAYSTATION-HD-RAD2X-CABLE - as it says that does work on PS2 as well, but it's not the ideal solution there.

For PS2 I just use component, to be honest, so I'm less in the know.

I was just going to mention the rad2x. I had one for my cube alongside a gcvideo and yes the analog quality of the rad2x is noticeable side by side with a fully digital gcvideo but it was still very good. Much better than my TVs rgb treatment.

There are multiple that look the same, I'm very sensitive to lag and I detect none with mine, and I also own an OSSC.
