Harsin
I was going to make a joke about them doing young sexy Jafar next. Then I remembered that already did that.
Art Vandelay
Looks alright actually. Although, I reckon you could film Emma Stone cleaning her oven and it would make a decent 90 minute watch.
Gigawatt
It’s basically Joker then, for the Disney Cinimatic Universe?
Retroid
That CGI fire-dress really put me off. It's a bad idea and should play out like a bad idea. ...Or atleast go so cringe it's amazing like in Spiderman.

Fun fact: my ex actually stopped taking her Anti-depressants after seeing the Joker - so I guess it's also a pretty empowering film for people with mental disorders? It didn't work out well anyway. papalazarou
watched this last night with the rest of the family and we all enjoyed it - from trailers i was fearing that this was going to be ott harley quinn style movie - but its not, emma stone and emma thompson are both great (esp thompson who just chews up any scene she is in this). sammy
Much better than I was expecting, great soundtrack and Emma’s Stone and Thompson were fabulous. Good enough to get the 8 year old into a watch of 101 Dalmatians tomorrow 😃
g wings
Yes, much better than expected. It could have been 20 minutes shorter and I preferred the first half with its beautiful production values but great fun overall. Good cast, great soundtrack and just enough action to keep the seven year old boy interested as well as my daughter who was in awe of the baroness; “she’s so horrible to everyone but she does it so confidently, she’s cool”. Majora
I quite enjoyed this. It's utterly propesterous and my friend and I laughed several times at scenes I'm not entirely sure were meant to be funny but as long as you go in knowing not to take it at all seriously it's a fun time. It is ridiculously camp, looks a million dollars, has a great soundtrack (both original and licensed) and watching the two lead actresses trying to out-camp and chew more scenery than the other is brilliant. Loik V credern
Knowing nothing about this film before seeing the trailer last week and thinking the cinematography and production values looked good, i was hoping I'd love it and now having watched it i struggled to enjoy it. Found it a chore. The story is so simple, it's overlong, i don't find Emma Thompson charming at all, just irritating and I'm not sure why. I can see why people enjoy watching her, i just find it a bit unbearable, like with Jack Black. All the nods to how she became Cruella from her name to hair to Dalmatians are so forced. Yet it is well directed, the movement of the camera, the long takes, the casting of her two best mates, their chemistry, the comedy from that is all really good but i couldn't really get into any of it. Spoiler She nearly burns alive then drives a truck into the front of a police station (while wearing a comedy moustache) to break her mates out, that should have been more involving and fun than it was. It's hard to care, and it's well shot and acted so it has to be the story is just too weak. Origin stories of villains don't really work. Adult Cruella is someone who just seems completely unhinged and there is no explanation for it, nor can there ever be. This film could have just been one where she's evil throughout and despite everyones best attempts to stop her she evades being caught, or murders all witnesses. Wouldn't fit the origin formula of overcoming tragedy and trying to prove oneself or chasing revenge. also, i also noticed this:
memories
Family watched this yesterday and we all loved it, was so much better than we all expected. Quite dark in places, fun in others and it's got quite the sound track.
Festoon
I though it was The Joker Wears Prada, and felt like an assembly of parts of those into a narrative that was just about serviceable.
Delargey
It felt was though there would have been a better movie about two warring fashionistas in the 70s if they just cut out all the cruella references.
g wings
Just over a month on from first viewing and it's a huge hit in our house, the Kids just keep rewatching it. Especially my son which is a surprise as he hardly ever makes it through a whole film.

Protocol Penguin
This film is basically just: montage – needledrop – tracking shot – anachronism – Stingray from Cobra Kai does a Bob Hoskins impression on a loop for two hours.
