PSVR2 - out now!

I am so conflicted with this, I remember that magical feeling of being immersed in Astro Bot's world and I want to snap up PSVR2 but the price...and I remember how few and far between the big "AAA" proper VR games were, the fun indie stuff was good but not enough to make you feel happy with a £550 headset purchase and those are the games that are going to be mostly available isn't it? Wii carnival type games.

But the magic, that feeling of having a theme park ride in your home with Thumper and Until Dawn Rush of Blood. Arrrggh what to do lol 🤣

Do Sony direct take pre-order payment at launch?

Still no email for me either, all fully subbed to the max here, so who knows what the chances are now of getting an invite. No doubt many who have registered will drop out when the actual preorders start, so we will see.

Yeah, this is my hope. But the amount of hardware destined for the UK at launch must be tiny given how few of us have received emails.

So why did you register for a pre-order?

I didn’t. I’ve got an email that has a link in it for a pre-order event running November 15th - 18th. It says to get a PSVR2 join the event by clicking the link on those days between specific times.

Seems daft. Some people want one but can’t get one, whilst others don’t want one but seem to be able to per-order. I’ve got a PSVR and it’s great but the price of the new one is batshit insane and there are no games for it, plus no backwards compatibility. Can’t see it doing well.

To be fair I’d sooner sit down and play something like Returnal or the new Zelda, rather than the stuff available on PSVR. Each to their own.

Not registered for anything. I did grab the free PSVR camera attachment for PS5 though. Maybe that could be why I’ve received access to the pre-order event? Fuck knows, either way it’s shit for those that really want one and it’s shit for me as it’s spamming my email up. 😂

I don't recall registering for anything, but got an invite. I did order the PSVR camera attachment though.

My purchase history will also tell them I was quite enthusiastic about PSVR, at least initially. Was all over Playstation Move before it too. They probably know I own a Quest, bongos, dance mats, maracas, guitars, drum kits, balance boards, Mario Karts, steering wheels, Stack Light Rifles, and turntables too.

They probably think I'm nailed on.

But I'm afraid they're going to have to show me a bit more variety than a few shooty things that while will I'm sure look amazing will also utterly fail to have the ground breaking impact of Superhot.

For 530 quid anyway.

Spoiler

I'm definitely getting one.

I got the email this afternoon. It says registering doesn't guarantee a change to preorder. So I'm registering for a chance to preorder. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, and this is the second time I have registered. It’s a joke really.

@StanleyI had the same email, was really excited when I saw it as thought it would be giving me the preorder slot, seeing as I’d already registered my interest.  It’s almost as though they have no fucking clue what they’re doing.

It doesn’t exactly inspire confidence does it. I think the preorders start next week don’t they? Let’s see what happens but I’m not holding my breath.

The email I received says to click the unique access link to the preorder event between 10:00am GMT 15 November - 9:59am GMT 18 November. While stocks last and subject to availability. Says you will then need to enter the email address attached to your PSN account to Pre-Order then just sit back, relax and wait for it to arrive.

Are you going for it? For me not having owned the first PSVR I wouldn’t be missing the lack of backwards compatibility, well apart from the fact there are games I’d like to try from the first generation, but luckily I’ve not yet played Resi 8 so that would be good enough reason for me to jump in to begin with.

Hopefully more titles will be announced soon or existing games will have VR modes added. Imagine Returnal in VR
