And what were the best PSVR games? I only really heard about Astro Bot but never really got in on the whole PSVR conversation, not being an owner.

I have revised my list for launch games I’d like now anyway after watching those videos.

NMS

RE8

The Walking Dead (this looks amazing)

Star Wars

I’m hoping the RE8 update is free, or pretty cheap.

Wipeout Omega Collection was my favourite.

Ace Combat 7 had a VR section that was only 3 missions worth but still very good.

Star Wars Squadrons also decent in VR.

What were/are the best VR games? On any platform I mean.

Half-Life: Alyx

Paper Beast

Wipeout HD Omega Collection

Elite Dangerous

Astro Bot

Asgard's Wrath

Robo Recall

Beat Saber

Lone Echo

Superhot VR

Resident Evil 7

Rez VR

Just from what I've played. Some are playable outside VR but all are better in VR :)

That's a great list, Lone Echo is indeed great!

Wipeout on PSVR absolutely blows me away. The sense of unbelievable scale and the ridiculous movement that has me physically reacting in my chair. I love it.

Yeah, another I'd forgotten about. To be honest, they could just run this at the higher res and all would be good, I don't think it would take much for it to be adapted to PSVR2.

Other stuff that should be on the list:

Walkabout Mini Golf

Pistol Whip

RE4 (maybe, never played it, read good things)

and at least an honourable mention for Synth Riders

Tetris Effect was an odd one for me, I loved it on PSVR, then when it came to Game Pass, I played it in 4k on my TV on my Xbox, and, for me, it was just better!

Beat Saber, WipeOut Omega Collection, and Astro Bot are my top 3.

For me, GT Sport deserves a name drop, not as one of the best, but as a demo of what can be (hopefully with GT7 and PSVR2), though I suppose, there are a few other titles that would fit that bill.

Aye, here's me doing a lap around the Nordschleife in GT Sport. Would love for GT7 to have multiplayer VR races.

I might have asked this before, but would like a decent answer

I am basically stereo blind. My brain switches off my right eye because it sucks. I only realised this was the case when I got a Virtual Boy and could not calibrate it.

So will I be able to use VR? Or is it a lost cause? I wear glasses that force my bad eye to work a bit. Would love to be in the club, but would it be a huge waste of money

No, I think you should be fine. @noob Has similar issues with sight in one eye, and I believe he's a fan of VR.

I'm exactly the same but the PSVR and Quest 2 work absolutely fine. I haven't ever felt I am missing out on anything because my right eye switches off :)

I have a feeling you'll get one without a huge amount of bother.

I was just thinking the same thing. I may be wrong but I can’t see these flying off the shelves at that price point for a device that also requires a PS5 to function.

Looks like a great piece of kit though, I imagine I’ll buckle and pick one up once it’s released.

Astrobot, which is absolutely in my top 5 VR games, was designed specifically for VR.  Games like The Last of Us and Uncharted can't simply be converted/updated for VR.

Have you played Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR on PC?
I’ve been playing it recently and despite it just being the regular game on a vr headset played with a controller, it really elevates the experience for me. To be honest, I’d have little to no interest in playing the game on a TV and only bought it because it supports VR. Some of the environments are really impressive, even in third person there’s a massive difference between the sense of scale and presence you get in the headset vs just looking at a flat image on a tv.

It’s hard to come from that and not strongly believe that any number of third person Playstation games would be extremely worthwhile experiences in a vr headset, even if just controlled with the Dualsense.

I have not, might give it a whirl if it's ever on sale. :)
