So does anyone know why the Matrix sequels were so obviously snubbed. I mean lets be fair, whatever you thought of them as films, it's extremely odd to nominate Peter Pan, T3 and Master & Commander above Revolutions in the special effects department.

I must admit I was expecting at least something for the Zion battle. It's a shame The Matrix lost it's CGI credibility with Reloaded (which people really did make too much of, but that's for another thread) because that sequence in particular was flawless.

Ah well that just leaves the far superior Oscar ceremony (two weeks today).

The Baftas are far superior to the Oscars. I have no interest at all in the Oscars but tend to buy up a good number of Bafta nominees on DVD.

Even though they've started trying to suck up to the Oscars and be more comercial in recent years, they're still way better.

I was dissapointed that LoTR won though.

I was dissapointed that 'Lost in Translation' didn't win.

There are many movies, ack! - I mean films, that I think are more deserving.

I don't agree with that, personally. Lost in Translation was very good, but ROTK was in a class of its own. Proper epic story, brilliantly told.

Jackson was basically getting the award for the trilogy and I for one don't begrudge him it one bit. It would have been so easy to fuck it up, but he did an excellent job.

I hope it cleans up at the oscars.
