First, I'll get this out of the way.

Alex Kurtzman is co-writing, co-showrunning and directing multiple episodes.

If you've not run away, it'll be a series on Showtime. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor as the alien, Jimmi Simpson as a CIA agent whose obsession with the alien drives him to the edge of insanity, and Naomie Harris as a scientist and engineer who finds herself racing to save two worlds.

First time I saw the Nic Roeg version was on Moviedrome and I absolutely hated it. I was about 13 years old then. I remember Alex Cox saying the film needs multiple viewings. Let's face it, this new one is going to be pretty conventional and pale in comparison to Roeg's film.

☹️ I fucking hate Bill Nighy.

(nothing against him personally. Something about his on screen presence really annoys me)

How dare you say that about the Man who voiced a Mewtwo!

Can see Nighy nailing the part but Newton doesn't age in the film, despite jumping ahead far enough in the future for Mary-Lou to visibly age herself. Would've been a nice touch to have Michael C. Hall reprise the role.
