It's just a cartoon, why wouldn't it be a pretty much direct adaption?

Because there's some wild stuff that happens later on, plus they rejigged a few things already with gender and ethnicity which I don't care about.

Oh I didn't watch the trailer through and to be honest it's been so long since I read the comics (I might have to get back into them!) :P

Genuinely don't feel the animation will last as long as the book, unless this is a huge success.

Know nothing about the comic, didn’t even know it was from Kirkman until the Episode 1 end credits.

Hence...

Spoiler

I was enjoying it for what it was all the way through. Seemed benignly entertaining.

And then that last five minutes came out of nowhere, and was complete batshit, marvellous stuff.

To say I’m in would be an understatement.

Fuck me. I also know nothing about the comic, and idly put this on to see if it's any good. That ... escalated.

Was pretty bored by episode one until the last few minutes, the resolution of which they hopefully won’t draw out for too long (I know little about the comics. Given Kirkman’s erratic quality on The Walking Dead, I wasn’t especially eager to see what he did next.)

The second episode was an improvement, though. Interested to see where it goes.

Think there is something wrong with me.... I thought that ending was quite predictable and didn't like it much, was quite liking it up till that point.

Will get the next 2 episodes done and see how I feel after that, probably watch the rest of it as it's on Prime, but dunno, the desire to just watch one more wasn't there, I quite hapilly stopped at the end of the episode, which is very strange, if something grabs me I HAVE to watch the next one :(

I felt similar.  It might be that that kind of twist has become a bit of a trope.  We see more of the likes of Omni man and Homelander than we do of the good Superman of old.  And when you know that it’s adult animation, the violence and gore is what I expected, similar to Harley Quinn.  Episode 2 was better, but the show doesn’t feel all that fresh to me.

I started watching this without really knowing what to expect as I'd never heard of it, and thought it was trying to be a mildly humourous parody at first

Spoiler

Jesus fucking Christ . Just as well I hadn't noticed the 18 rating otherwise I'd probably have seen something like that coming though.

I agree it doesn't feel fresh now with more adult superhero shows being more common nowadays, however, at the time there wasn't anything like that and its why Invincible felt new and had a large fanbase.

Well this is rather good isn't it?

Yes, yes it is.

After being underwhelmed at the first episode, the next two have been good. Possibly not as good as I had thought it was going to be, but way better than my first impressions last night.

Well, i thought that was great, and holy fucking shit, how many famous people can you cram into one cartoon! This must have a mega budget!

Zach Quinto as Robot is just great casting.
