Strictly Limited Games / Limited Run Games

My main problem with these in my experience is that they rarely deliver on time, every game I’ve purchased has been delayed a fair few months at least from its initial projection. Ironically some have gone on to get general retail releases later making the whole process pointless. Case in point Cotton Reboot from Strictly Limited was supposed to be released in March, yet still no sign of when that’s coming, and no update either, now I see it’s getting a general physical release in June anyway. Looks like I’d be able to pick up a copy from Amazon before I even hear about what’s happening with my strictly limited copy I preordered last year.

Ready to dispatch games, I’ve all but given up ever seeing that copy of Radirgy Swag I preordered a year ago ever materialising.

Generally the whole concept is a good idea, giving physical releases to some classic indie games that are too niche to get general retail releases. I generally dip in when a game I really like gets a physical release, it’s not often I do and have only bought five games this way previously but I’m already disillusioned with the whole process. It’s a good idea but is handled very poorly in practice.

Ready to Dispatch are terrible. The first news I heard on my copy of Psyvariar was getting a VAT fee from DHL about 16 months after I ordered it.

Glad I ordered the JP version of Cotton Reboot for PS4, I ordered the PAL Switch version just the other day. Lots of these games seem to get a general release now.

I’m sure they are trolling with the company name ‘Ready to dispatch’.

And so it goes on.

The tracking number from April was supposedly "one of a batch of faulty tracking numbers". When I requested my refund, it "magically" started working again, and it turns out the number had been recorded as '12345678 instead of 123456789 (fake numbers obviously - but there is a ' at the start and the final digit was missing) so I can believe it's some mail-merge error or something as to why it wasn't working.

Only it now says:

So it still hasn't actually been dispatched, it was just pickup-requested from the courier on the 13th - the day I requested a refund.

Something fucking shady going on here.

Nothing today :(

If it helps, my tracking doesn't do anything either at the minute.

removed the "   '    " from the tracking and now I get :-

Despite my tracking updating this afternoon to say it had been "sorted" for the 82934623th time in Pennsylvania, I came home to find it had been delivered this morning. Woo!

It's great. But a bit of the manual is missing.

(no, it's not on the next page you cards)

I'm still waiting for my copy of Monster Boy in Monster Girl from Strictly Limited.

Sounds like a game that ought to be strictly limited

It arrived yesterday!

So I played Star Trek Online and finished mopping up collectables in Alwa's Awakening instead.

Nice manual though.

Limited Run had a big re-stock of all their previous sold out games at 3pm. Did anyone manage to get anything?

I picked up Val-Hall-A which I’d been looking at for a while but missed out on most of the good stuff

Same, I had the vita lrg version but grabbing on switch will give me an excuse to replay/full screen version (vita screen was cramped/readjusted for its lower resolution). Also grabbed the snatcher soundtrack

I did try to grab River City Girls but that sold out faster than I could add to basket.
