Oh, definitely this.  Love of an era in the UK, love of game art, love of games in general and you can feel the dev's poured a chuck of their life experiences in there too.

Robotron: 2084 and Defender. The absolute pinnacles of flashy light, boomy sound, nervous twitchy shooting chaotic madness!

 

The colours and sounds could induce almost trance like states in top players, as their hands moved at blinding speeds across the coin op controls.

 

For my money, they are both as good, if not better, than any other arcade shooter ever made.

 

Eugene Jarvis is an artist and a gaming God and I’ll fight anyone who disagrees!
