Seeing people running around with parachutes floating above their heads was pretty funny, and the rocket taking off looked fucking amazing. Our squad stopped and stood there watching it take off.

I tried jumping on it but nope…..I was thinking what if you did that hook thing on it as it was taking off.

I kinda really like this in a strange way.

I kinda like how it looks in the bushes and on the hills. I like the way it moves when your on foot. I like the feel of most of the weapons. It’s a decent shooting experience.

I don’t like the menus at all, the characters and their distorted voices, the fisher price physics system (Makes GTA 3 look like a simulator), the interiors of the made up vehicles, the kinda aimless go to point and hang around to capture it stuff, the damn appalling lag, the lack of particle effects when driving through water, the shitty spotting system, I could go on and on…

I think if they released a proper demo of this game and showed what it was going to be like at launch I might actually buy it.

I hear some of the game modes won’t even be available at launch?

We can’t shake off the PS4 and Xbox one era soon enough.

I was kind of hoping it was. Even CoD  has separate models for each 'faction'. You need to play a bit to learn them but it's there.

Just like previous Battlefields this feels it's coming too early. It needs at least another 6 months in development from this (apparently 6 months old, so 12?! Fuck knows) showing. EA and Dice never, ever learn.

Hmmm. So there's one specialist nobody can play with right now, and 5 that are redacted. Maybe there will be two teams of models then (though it still results in 4/5 specialists across 64 players on a single team, so lots of highly identifiable clones running around).

The skins/cosmetics in this are gonna be fucking insane, aren't they?

I can’t stand the character design in this , I just don’t get it.

Where is my handsome semi bearded American killing machine?

I did get up and load the beta up only to find out the beta has ended and felt a tiny bit sad…probably because it means I have to get up and do something.

I lol'd at all the parachutes caught in a tornado.

I'm not keen on the controls and hope I can custom them COD like as I'm so used to it that way. I also need to adjust sensitivities, etc. as I don't feel precisely in control. That's a thing with every game though.

I have actually cancelled my pre-order now. I'm going to wait to see what the response is upon release - what things they have fixed, what things remain and what the longer term plan is. I'd put £90 down on this in July, it was my most anticipated game of the year, and this beta has just not been Good.

TYeah everyone was saying ah it Tarkov. I have no idea what that is.

To be honest when I play battlefield I just want to play the main battlefield mode. I’m not interested in “pistols, only” kinda stuff. This Tarkov thing seems like more of a scavenge thing though so maybe it’ll have some good team play in it.

Personally I wouldn’t mind a battle royal mode. I find the game type quite engaging and simple to understand. Conquest I think has had its day. Everyone rushes to a point then the next then the other team take the other and everyone rushes back to that.

I’m quite looking forward to going back to some classic maps.

I think I’ll buy the game. Incredible for me to say but I had a lot of fun with the betas basic gameplay.

Ive been playing 4 lately and that still holds up in terms of gameplay today. Battlefield 1 is pretty good but I only like one gun and none of the vehicles. Battlefield V seems a bit shit?

It's like one of those DVDs you see in supermarkets that they hope confused grandparents will buy for kids at Christmas.

I said this is another thread, I forget which, they're the Kier Starmer of developers, they're doing their best to alienate their existing customer base all in the hope that enough people from another game will dump that and move to them - which is very unlikely to happen. Not least because they're hoping to tempt people away from a stable and well supported F2P game to a product that costs £70 and will probably be held together with sellotape at launch.

Ok that's the details, I won't pasta them as it's too much of a  block of info. It's an extraction mode, NOT A BR (it's totally a kind of BR) so more like the Dark Zone in Division.

I'm just talking to a friend on What's App and he's read that apparently the reaction to 2042 is not going down well internally, with jobs on the line. Now, this kind of thing is all on DICE. They really shouldn't be building something new in a vacuum. I don't believe they can think they'd ditch much of the stuff that worked in the last 3 (we'll not include Hardline, eh?) games and think people would be spokey dokey with it. However, all these decisions aren't the fault of the poor schmoes on the production line so I hope it's the lead designers and heads that bear the brunt of that. IF there actually is any.

Yeah does anyone actually care anymore, I certainly don't. If I want to get annoyed by an online shooter I'll reinstall Apex. The beta was a total fucking shitshow and I ain't got time for that shit!

It's broken as fuck, but we're still getting it at launch. When we were in a group playing it, we had a lot of fun.

Devs interacting with the community too much is the problem with these games. You can't let Reddit and YouTube design your game otherwise the mess that is this series is what happens.

Big gameplay and features video.

They have certainly sorted out a ton of stuff. Much much better than the beta.

Although, I'm against this specialist crap. No doubt I will be using old school fan made portal games.

That's a shit load of improvements that directly address most of the issues I had with the beta. Very, very encouraging - Jackfrags did another video a couple of days ago which was also good.

Addition of comms rose plus the factions being available in Portal addresses a huge amount of concerns I had.
