Yep it's bugged. Objective doesn't change and just says get to the grinder District and the way pint continues to point to the large neon sign. Is there really no way to reset/quit a mission like there is in every other game like this?

Could try starting a side mission and coming back, but I don’t think so, no.

Played for about 2hrs and then deleted - nice looking game with decent controls and a nice futuristic setting, but too much going on and too much clutter - not enough shooting either and why can’t I zoom in on the play area? Would probably evolve quite nicely, but it all seemed like a chore. Booted up skydrift infinity and it was instantly forgotten.

Playing on an RTX3070 and all the RT stuff is greyed out. Every time I select DX12 it just drops back to 11. This happening to other PC players?

Also, even on High (not Ultra) this slows to a crawl with any pyrotechnics, even an exploding barrel tanks the frame rate. Only playing on 1440 ultrawide.

The game itself is fine. Though the interface is shit. Just up to Poone. I’ll give it a couple more hours.

Seems to give me horrific frame rate drops at the start of a session whenever an effect goes off for the first time but settles down over time.

Loads of stutter which might be the camera and not the frame rate? I think it might be stuttering on my One S too, but the poor frame rate masks it...

It's a disaster technically but for whatever reason I'm having loads of fun.

Played it for about 45 minutes but decided to delete it. The world is superficially detailed and rh explosions are cool, but the gameplay is quite dull and the shooting feels off - too twitchy. I thought the setting was devoid of atmosphere and pretty charmless, too. Nothing has grabbed me or given me an incentive to keep playing.

You have to switch to DX12 then press esc which gives you a save option. Then restart the game and it should be in DX12 mode with RT options active. However it’s apparently a bit bodged in DX12 and some are saying RT effects aren’t always working or FR is all over the place, which, to be fair, it is anyway. Sounds like there’s some bugs to be ironed out.

Ive played 90 mins or so solo. It seems they’ve out a lot of love (and neon) into the world but not sure if it’s interesting enough and the plot seems a bit meh. I quite like the feel though the walking backwards and shooting mechanic is getting a little stake already. Wanna break through the first few hours and will try MP with the boy.

Thanks. Will try that ESC trick.

There’s also no DLSS support for the GP version, but there is for Steam. On resetera one on the devs has stated that they’re separate builds at different stages of patching, so clearly the platform that has the ongoing direct sales is being prioritised. Unsurprising, but poor.

Just tried ray tracing on my RTX2070 and, no, that's just not happening. Frame rate stutters, then dies when enemies appear.

Reading about these bugs has me wondering if I had something similar with a side quest. I followed the marker to a level 2 quest, the steroid collection one, and it took me into an area full of level 17-18 goons, and then to a door that opened but wouldn't let me enter. I thought I'd gone the wrong way, but no idea now.

I do, however, quite like the actual action in this. The cover mechanic and the weapons - got a shot gun now - are pretty decent. And I'm still in the first 3 hours.

Had a few hours on this last night. It's okay - looks absolutely excellent and I love the crowded areas, lighting etc.

But there's nothing jumping out at me yet. I think I'm going to stick with it as some people have said it gets better. But right now, it's quite good but nothing extraordinary whatsoever.

When you get there, your radar should change colour, and there are four big guys in the vicinity of that sign who you have to kill (they're not right next to it, but are around it, up the little staircases).

If your objective hasn't changed to Kill Four Chrome-men or whatever they're called, then yeah it's probably bugged.

I'm at this bit and also couldn't find where to go next - the mission definitely updated to kill the 4 guys but after 30 minutes of wandering around, I couldn't find them!

I'll try again - fortunately I found a cool looking disintegration gun whilst I was wandering around so I want to try it out on these punks.

What I meant by 'your radar should change colour' is a light red circle appears on it, and that's indicating the area you have to search in order to find the 4 guys to kill.  If you're miles outside that area to the point that you can't see it on your radar, pressing the objective button should show you a path to it.

Ah - I think my game might have a bug then. I've definitely got the light red circle and have explored every small area of it but there's not a single person within it.

I wonder if fast travelling somewhere and then back there would fix it?

Although I also think you might only unlock fast travel immediately after that quest...😬

From what I played of this last night, I quite enjoyed it. It's got quite a retro vibe to it. It reminds me of a PS1 game for some reason - I suspect the mix of shooting, very light RPG elements, and the limited view of the game world. It makes me think of Abe's Oddysee too for some reason, even though the setting doesn't have a lot in common with Oddworld. Plus, Eurogamer pointed out that the environment looks like a pre-rendered background from that era, except it's in realtime. Massive nineties vibes, in the sense that it feels like a game from that era rather than a game that's deliberately trying to evoke or exaggerate the aesthetic. It looks great, and I love the mix of cyberpunk and space opera - it reminds me of Alastair Reynolds' books.

I had it in my head for some reason that the game was a ray-tracing showcase for the new-gen Xboxes, so it's slightly disappointing to find out it's only available on PCs, and only in a very buggy form that even the developers don't recommend you use.

What started out as a slow and bug ridden mess turned out to be a really fun co-op experience for my mates and I.

The first few missions are quite dull and offers no challenge at all but once the game opens up and the difficulty is ramped

up we had a lot of fun. This is by no means goty material, but it’s been solid fun for us!

I think my eyes actually shut down momentarily when I reached the outside bit in this, such was the amount of visual detail hitting my retinas. Or maybe I was just tired.

I played a bit of this last night waiting for the Halo beta to kick off and had a quick look here to see what reactions were and was surprised at how negative they were. I'm pleased that a few people seem to have enjoyed it, as I did.

I think the story bits are a bit meh, and the environment is the star but crucially I think the gameplay is alright. I play using an Elite pad and being able to map some controls to the paddles underneath the controller probably makes a world of difference when it comes to being able to drop in and out of crouch without taking a thumb off the right stick.  I felt like the gameplay got a bit better as I got more used to using the environment and ducking in and out of cover a bit more.  How much depth there'll be beyond that, I don't know, but enemies had just started putting mortars down last night, which makes me think there might be lots of diving in and out of cover as the game progresses, it'll be interesting to see if they have any more tricks up their sleeves, if they have, I think there's a good chance I'll stick with it.

Seems like RLLMUK is split the same as reviewers....clearly not a classic for everyone, but some folks will enjoy it. I've downloaded it, but got tied up in the glorious blood-lust of Ryse last night (bless you GP, I'd have never played that if not) so have yet to boot it.....

Looks lovely, but so far very basic play.

Atmosphere-wise this feels very modern.

Gameplay (so far, only 30-45mins in really) reminds me of Alien Breed on the Amiga.

Will keep playing.

Fun fact, he was in charge of reviewing existing games that Psygnosis could publish and had Radiant silvergun, Silhouette mirage, and Grandia in on Japanese saturn to review to see if Psygnosis would publish PlayStation versions of them, and turned them all down.

wait what, then the developers deserve nothing. 1/10

I had a look at this last night and did the first mission. It was okay I guess? I suppose I'm not really sure how I think this type of game could wow me though, because it's too light in RPG stuff and roaming big maps with pointless dead-ends is never something I particularly enjoy.

I already feel I've seen the extent of what it can offer, too, so whilst I'll give it a bit more time, the mechanics don't really grab me and will most likely bore me long before the end (and I suspect its a game that will be full of padding, too.)

I had this on Series X and a quit to main menu and reload sorted it for me.

So this is kind of janky, but I think I might love it? I like the world they've created and the dialogue is fun so far too. The first game that has ever given me proper Chaos Engine vibes and I adored that game. I think I'll play through most of it with friends though. Seems like the most enjoyable way to experience it.
