Nintendo Switch OLED - who needs 4k, dat screen

I've pre-ordered a black and white one from Smyth's with click and collect. I'm going to complete Skyward Sword and then flog my current Switch and hopefully get about £200 for it on eBay or Facebook. I then don't mind paying another £109 for the OLED and screen upgrade. I'll probably start using it in handheld mode, playing in bed or where have you, a lot more than I currently do if it's got the OLED screen. I imagine that I'll also actually get some more use out of the bigger kickstand if I play it two player more with my boy, as he's getting older now.

 

If they release a Switch 2 or Pro next year then I can just flog the OLED and get that instead:hat:

Yes I know that's why I said "shitty services that pay sod all" - I added that clause so that there was (I thought) sufficient clarity as to why the drivers did not perform as well as they could.

 

In future I will be more heavy handed in my descriptions.

nah its ok I just do realise the reason why some of the drivers do shit like that and I don't like it to appear like I am complaining about them as individuals. I wasn't as clear as I could have been on that.

 

Fact is that if other retailers want to charge for delivery they need to be providing a better service, which means paying for deliveries that are well funded, well managed and where drivers get better working conditions.

 

I'd pay an extra £7-£10 for deliveries IF the companies used to deliver them actually gave their drivers better conditions and pay.

 

EDIT - Anyway now feeling I should preorder from smyths even though they do use shitty courier companies. Do they charge on preorder? Oh and are they good for preorders? as in delivering on release date?

Guess I'll have to use one of the two on the side, rather than the one in the back that they have replaced with the LAN port ;)

Got my preorder for in store collection from Smyths. Went for the white one. It'll be a nice replacement for my Day One Switch. Will be an expensive day: got the limited edition Metroid: Dread and Amiibo collection all on the same day as well.

Find someone who wants the LAN dock but doesn’t care about OLED and swap docks?

I had NO IDEA even the original Switch has two USB ports on the side. Mindblowing.

I did notice the ventilation on the inside back of the dock looks substantially bigger. So maybe that will fix any warping issues.

Parents don't know shit about games. I'm 34, but I was 21 when my son was born so I'm about ten years younger than most of his friends parents. They're absolutely baffled by Fortnite and GTA Online and aren't interested in understanding. I'd guess they're a lot more representative of general parents than I am.
