I think a device has to actually exist.

The Steam Deck's been announced 4 seconds and already the actual thing is being shown off.  The Analogue pocket is 2 years old and we've got a promise and a few renders.

How so? It’s white, white goes with everything.

Like, everything I own is black. And the dock cant be hidden away on any of the shelves because you can’t slip the Switch in. At the moment it sits happily on the top next to my black Sonos Arc, but I reckon a white one would stick out like a sore thumb.

It looks like I'll be selling my OG Switch on Wednesday, unless the sale falls through, so I'll be Switchless until I get my OLED. I've pretty much always played the console through my TV, apart from Animal Crossing and Mario Maker, so I'm looking forward to getting into some handheld games with dat screen. Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is going to be my first port of call, I think, after Metroid Dread, anyway. I've got FFX and Xenoblade Chronicles unplayed as well.

Want to know something hi-lar-ious? I sold my Switch yesterday but now can't seem to find any evidence of my OLED preorder anywhere, not in my email, phone, Smyths website - nothing. I'm starting to wonder if I actually preordered it via Smyths.

Hmm.

Wasn’t going to bother as I don’t touch my Switch, but I like the idea of a bigger screen and OLED is always a better screen choice.

Are the old controllers compatible as I don’t want multi colour, bright ones and would use my grey ones. Otherwise I’d get the white.

Of course then there’s the matter of finding a pre-order for one…..

Smyths have got back to me to say they have no record of a pre-order. God knows why I didn't chase it up at the time when I didn't get a confirmation email.

So, I now have no Switch and no pre-order.

🙃

Anyone know of any good stock alert Discords or Twitter feeds for the white OLED model? I've signed up to StockInformer's pings, but they're not the best. I'm hoping this won't be quite as sought after as the PS5 and XSX. I really don't want to go through with having to chase stock again.

Very.co.uk and Amazon are taking pre-orders again, not checked anywhere else.

Lovely - pre-ordered a blue/pink one to go with the order for a white one I already have.

I do love the white one, and it’s different and new, but it’s the white dock I’m still unsure about 😭

Paint it/cover it in stickers/one of those shit wraps from eBay/hide it from view if it bothers you that much?
