I am literally doing a daily dance with this mentally where I tell myself I don't want one and to cancel the order and then a voice says 'you'll really want one then and won't be able to get it anywhere before xmas'

 

It's quite a dilemma and if I'm honest the only reason the order remains open - I can't make a rational case for needing this as a mainly TV player with nothing wrong with their launch day Switch.

 

Ah but that is all reasonable and well and good, but look it's white and that screen you'll never use is so much better .........

pre order is still in, dusted off wii u + games and its been sold to pay for it.

 

picked up pro controller, deadly premonition 2, mario odyssey, mario kart but trying not to rebuy wii u games!.

 

not had a switch before and looking forward to it but it will spend most of its time behind the tv

This photo might have pushed me off the fence - the screen size increase looks more noticeable than I expected.

It's more than 25% bigger in terms of area. A little increase in the diagonal really does give you a lot more screen.

Doesn't look like my Satisfye grip will fit, hope it's not too long until they make one for the OLED. Might get a Skull & Co to tide me over as I struggle without a grip.

Looks a tad bigger in the above pic, I've already ordered the Skull & Co grip (only about £12 delivered 🤷‍♂️) and it comes with a little extension to fit the OLED Switch.

Yes I know - but no-one is going to be coming away with any conclusion about the screen other than it’s a bit better and a bit bigger.

You should see the colour festival that is Cruis'n blast. That would send your eyeballs running down your cheaks.

I’ll probably compare them side by side before I sell my old one but I expect after 4+ years and many many hours of looking at an LCD screen you’ll be able to tell very quickly. I  gratefully picked up an OLED vita this year and that 10 year old machine’s screen colour quality was noticeably better.
