I have been playing this since I got the Xbox Series X recently.  Is the difficulty model broke?  I started on Average, and win pretty much every race, so the game suggested I go to Above Average and now I am lucky if I finish 9th.  There seem to be very little middle ground between the two, so much so that it makes me think I am either awful at it or missing something.

It’s the exact same for me. I don’t even need to try for Average but on above I need to go all out and will still not win.

They do seem to vary a bit in difficulty depending on the circuit/type so I fluctuate between Expert/Pro.

I had a play earlier here and could spank them pretty easy on Expert, but Pro as in the vid took some more care and effort...

Very impressive, I love how smooth your control is.  When I play it seems that my cars want to skid and lose control all the time, especially the faster cars.  It feels like maybe I am playing it wrong, or not learning the road layouts and focusing on what is coming up.  I am very much full trigger on/off, I think when I take corners my finger is still on the accelerator but at the same time I am braking to try to get a optimal speed to take a corner.  If I come off the gas completely and brake, when I then floor it again the faster cars often spin or I lose control.  If playing this properly means a gradual usage of the triggers, as in real driving pedals, then I am in trouble as its depressing fully is ingrained into me.

Cheers. Yeah I thought watching it back maybe it appeared a bit slow, but hoped that was just deceptive with it actually me being so smooth :eyebrows:

I'm not got the the most delicate of touches for fine control really, but I try.

It may also help if you go into the game's difficulty settings, advanced controller options or something it is in there and tweak the steering analogue stick and trigger deadzones smaller. By default they're at 10-15% or something inside and the same outside, so you're only actually getting effective use of maybe 70-80% of the stick/trigger's travel in game.

Drop them right down then you can more accurately gently feed in the power/brakes using the full 100% travel of the trigger.

I also like to crank the vibration rumble up in there.

Just done a lap in rivals in the same car/track and you can see my accelerator/brake inputs there

Are you tuning your cars? If a car is rear wheel drive the back end will slide out a lot, tuning faster cars to all wheel drive will make them much easier to handle.

Also you've inspired me to revive the rllmuk rivals, doing rivals laps is a great way to improve your performance.  Here. Helped me to learn manual gears which improved my laptimes.

OMG, I just came first in a trial race! That's never happened - I'm always 7th or under. It was the Estadio cross country circuit in a 2015 BMW X6M which I'd stuck a big engine and offroad tyres on and did a tiny bit of tuning. How far I've come. Now to do it on an S1 road race.

6 months ago they released the expansion pass add on for £40.

Where's the fucking expansion Playground ?

I just came in here to ask if any DLC had been announced yet. I rinsed this back in November and thought it was great but haven't been back to it since.

You got to start playing the game 3 days early IIRC so what are you moaning about, us gamepass "freeloaders" had to wait til day1 that wasn't actually day 1 🤣

Also why does anyone 'pre-order'/ pre-pay for DLC?  Wait till the first lot is available and see if it's any good and you are still interested in the game

My interest in this has nosedived in the last few weeks.   The racing itself is quite satisfying, and it always looks astounding.  I look at the map littered with icons, 90% of which I have no interest in doing, I don't play online either and am realising that there is little left anymore to motivate me in playing.  Probably I might like to purchase the properties, and I will dip in on occasion, but there just isn't much left to lure me back to playing how I did in the first three weeks or so.

And that is forza horizon.

I could filter the map, but the sheer volume of icons make me glaze over.

Anyway, dipping back in and gave away all my duplicate cars, including a few epics, to new players. Love that feature.

Edit-how do I restore the Ferrari barn find? It's been sat getting painted or something for months.

Same as all barn finds its wait the requisite amount of time or pay a ginormous amount of in game credits to speed it up.

The time does vary by car though; the Ferrari F40 Competizione is quite slow; the Ferrari 250 GTO is VERY, VERY slow.  Chances are you will locate and unlock other barn finds and still be waiting for that one to complete

Aye, that's the one. It's my last barn find to restore, only noticed I hadn't actually got it yet because it's my next closest achievement to complete. Will keep plugging away then.

It was ages ago that I did it but am pretty sure it took more than a week to restore and I was playing the game for quite a few hours each day at the time.  It might be something like 30 in game hours needed!

I’ve had an amazing bug today where the three points from the Horizon Jungle Cruise event have gone onto the monthly total but not the weekly one.

EDIT: and another bug, I’ve just had the Ride & Seek achievement pop when I was five roads short.

The Eventlab track this week is probably the best one yet, It's like a full on rally stage. Just pick a nice A class rally car, go in car cam view, take off the Hud and feel the feels!

It took me ages to beat the Caballo Blanco Speed Trap. I kept failing it over and over again by 1mph and then it started raining which didn't help. Eventually beat it by matching the target speed but it's by the far the most difficult seasonal speed trap I've played.

Yeah this one was very tricky. Although I found the City Escape Trailblazer harder, must have attempted it 20-30 times until I got it.  Seems they've made the trials much easier and the PR stunts much more difficult.

I used the 1981 Volkswagen Scirocco S Tune - 174 116 819 in the end to do it. Someone posted in the reddit comments.
