That's cool. Yeah, A and B class rallys are always fun in the base game.

Apart from having other cars on course at the same time it looks great. Hopefully it lives up to the standard set by the original Horizon rally expansion.

Seems a bit underwhelming to me. A bit more map in broadly the same place. More events and a pace notes system. A new festival location plus the pace notes I guess. Watching that it just felt distinctly "okay, so a bit more FH5". I mean if you took out the branding I'd just thing it was basically the existing game.

 

I'm not really sure what I expected or wanted to be honest. I didn't like the idea of Hotwheels because it removes you from the ground (and we'd done it before). Whilst I loved Lego I didn't want another repeat and maybe the whole toy thing could be overdone.

 

I guess maybe I think stuff like this Rally expansion should be a 3 monthly or so drop just for free to keep the game alive a bit more. That might be asking a lot obviously.

Most of us haven’t paid for anything except maybe the expansion pass, unless you count £1 for the gold upgrade… (and it’s 18 months old now?)

Its the expansion pass cost I'm talking about.

 

Of course FH5 is a massive package as it stands on Game Pass. No issue there. I just mean that this as a package doesn't seem like an exciting prospect.

 

As I say, I guess I'm not sure what I think they could do to excite me. The same is true to a lot of DLC I guess. More of the same is often the reality.

Yes, it looks fun enough but not much of an expansion.

 

I reckon the Lego expansion was excellent with a really good progression structure. Don't want to see it again though particularly. Still would have preferred it to more Hot Wheels though.

I recall with the previous games, the conventional expansion was first, and then the wild one was second, they switched them this time which probably did both expansions a bit of a disservice.

I don't think you can do direct sales, can you? It's all auction house, gift to random or nothing as far as I know.

I think the best, maybe only option is a synchronised auction house sale. Like you and Boozy agree on 10:57am and he lists it for the cheapest possible buyout price, while you go on at same time looking to buy it and hopefully nobody else snipers it before you. 

Similar, for sending money between you if wanting to do it that way, you could list a cheap shit car with a 6 mil buyout price and he’d go on and buy it. Though I can’t remember perhaps maybe it limits the max buyout price you can set, so possibly you’d need to do that a few times to get 6 million total.

yep, I see what you mean. Maybe a bit of a risk of losing it to someone else for Boozy though.

For the buyout thing you mentioned. I did try and accumulate money by listing some of my better cars at a high price, but it only lets you list them for a set amount, which was pretty low.

According to Forza Wiki it was in Horizon 3 and 4 and in Motorsport 6 and 7.

 

Hopefully they’ll do an Italy special as part of a future Festival Playlist and bring it in that way.

I finally won an Eliminator match last night. I didn't even mean to. It was a quick match before bed and I was stuck in a level 7 Porsche. I think I got lucky as the goal was in the heart of Guanajuato and I plunged foolishly into the maze of streets whereas the others tried to go around. Good to finally get it, though.

I'm just really meh about the expansion, it looks so similar to Mexico in the main game. With Horizon 4 Fortune Island and Lego they were markedly different to the main game. Even FH3 With the Snow and Hot Wheels expansion. 

 

I may be wrong and it's ace but I'm not over confident. They just need to add dirtbikes.

Yeah that got my hopes up, but I can’t see it happening. Forza doesn’t seem the type of game to have bodies flying off bikes in crashes.

The Rally Adventure DLC is out at 6pm (UK) for anyone who might be interested and had forgotten.

 

I'd forgotten but will be passing. As much as I enjoy my time in Horizon I think I've ended up viewing it like a lobby for gaming. A place I could imagine hanging out in but don't actually want to spend money on. I think Game Pass plus too much similarity over too many games just means the idea of paying for more of the same just isn't enticing enough.

I usually wait till the dlc is on sale before getting it but the rally dlc for the first game was so good im in for this at launch. Although no idea if this one will be any good.
