So I figured I'd spend $30 on the expansions and so may as well spend $45 on the premium upgrade. 

 

Holy SHIT. If this intro doesn't put a smile on your face, I'm not sure driving games are for you. Or perhaps even games. Or smiling. At one point I kinda zoned out and was picturing me as a teen playing Sega Rally and just boggling at the detail flying past me. Going to leave it in quality mode, which seems to be the default. If I don't see 60fps, perhaps I won't miss it.

 

Initial impressions:

 

The accessibility options are amazing, and they're front and centre. Huge kudos to Microsoft for this. Somehow, 1st party titles always talk to me on the intro screens, must be a setting in my MS account somewhere, but it made me dive in a look through the accessibility menu. I'd really like to hear community feedback on this because the number of options are fantastic. They should probably fold them all in to the platform itself so that other games can leverage that kind of control, save us all bemoaning crappy subtitles, etc.

 

Mexican culture straight out of the gate. I don't think people like me can be exposed to enough of that, so I was thrilled to see it in the first barn find mission.

 

Control is a bit twitchy, at least based on my muscle memory of Horizon games, which is where I've done 90% of my driving of late. I may need to dial back sensitivity. 

 

The menus - fantastic. Not only do they follow the general UX that MS have going, they're greatly simplified and I can't help but think this is from all the feedback we've given.

 

No idea about the racing yet, time for Zooms :(

I didn't get the invite and when you search clubs in game it takes to to the actual Xbox page. And found the club and put a request in. Says it only has 1 member. 

 

In the actual game it doesn't show I'm in club.

Crikey, I hope I don't have to send out individual invites to everyone. I thought when I set it up everyone would just be able to search it then join, pending me pressing an "yes, welcome to the club" button 😳

I gotta go offline for a couple of hours (to the pub 😊)

I'll add everyone who needs added when I get back. Anyone who's a member now (eight of us so far) is now an admin, so I think admin are able to add members if any of you feel like stepping in while I'm out?
