I thought the premium upgrade seemed reasonable. Two dlc packs, a load of cars, extra wheelspins and I got to play it early. I got my game pass through the Xbox live months conversion thing, so I might have felt differently if I was paying monthly.

I pay monthly and I pay full price for Gamepass, mostly because I can't be arsed with the hoop jumping required to save a few pounds per month.  I dont feel diddled at all with this, it's extraordinary value as it stands.

The dirt road racing in this is so, so good. I cannot believe that 'people on the internet' think there is no difference when racing on different surfaces. :lol:

Is anyone else getting a “local cache is almost full” message popping up while playing this? I’ve only ever seen this since I started FH5 and only while I’m playing it happens?

 Not sure if it’s a bug or something I need to do - certainly I can’t find any option in settings to clear the cache.

Just been playing a little with Eventhub, making messages pop up when you overtake etc. Some people will do quite scary things with this.

 

But, you know, "no changes since FH4".

 

Hopefully Playground manage to curate what's created though - at the moment it's all "GET MONEY" races.

I found the problem with mine was Avast antivirus... Disabling it didn't work but completely uninstalling it did the trick...

I think I know the one you mean. I wondered why so many drift cars were passing me coming the other way, until I started it. And then it just went on and on and on. I regret being in a Lambo at the time.

 

I didn't realize you should avoid people in the Eliminator, although I didn't pay much attention to online stuff in previous FH. I just went to do the seasonal online thing which requires a B class offroad and it crashed to home screen. Looks like they have some patching due. Does the Xbox automatically send crash logs or do you use the Feedback app for that?

 

The structure of this game is way better. You still get icon overload but I feel like I have some direction and just routinely filter the map.

 Yeah I was getting that just now. Couldn't really find much information other than it is supposedly to do with playing offline and the cache storing achievements etc. I went into network settings (as that is where it takes you if you hold the Xbox button down when the message is on screen) and tried going offline and back online (which is meant to clear the cache) and found that it wasn't actually letting me do anything. It was frozen for some reason. 

 I had to do a hard reset, then went into settings, went offline and then back online and am hoping that fixed it. I'm not sure if it is related to playing "solo" in the game instead of Horizon Life? Maybe the game thinks you are literally offline if you choose solo? If so that must be a bug as you can still access online stuff in the game.

Gotta admit that I had quite a lot of fun with this over the weekend. I've not been a huge fan of racing games since the original Gran Turismo and while I've played quite a few racers over the last two decades, very little has kept me playing beyond a couple of hours.

 

The Forza Horizon series is the only car focused series that have kept me interested in the genre and 5 seems to keep this tradition going. 

Initially I was a bit afraid that Mexico would be a less interesting setting than the two previous games, but so far I'm impressed with the variety in scenery and locations. 

 

This will most likely be a game that will sit installed on the internal storage of my Xbox for months and months to come, it's just a perfect piece of software to boot up when you've got 15 minutes available and even when you plan a night in with nothing but gaming planned for the evening.

Probably not. Never really bought it before perhaps when they give a huge discounts on it. Anyway it's always good to know what you are actually buying which is another reason why the premium pack thing didn't appeal.

 

The only reason I would have bought it was to play early... Which looking at it would have been a waste of money for me especially when I get get it for no additional expenditure at 11am today YAY! :) Not long to the official launch! 👍

As far as I understand it yes.... Although I'm on PC this time so I'll see how I can do this. If it doesn't work for me 12:01am it is for me! :D

My dirt racing series is still bugged. The first event has a tick but the next is locked so I can't move it forward and the festival isn't there. 

 

The game crashed as I was doing the set up so looking likely I'm going to have to delete my save file and restart which is pants as I have some ace cars and records.
