only one for you I could see is called Deckromantik v1 but the right trackpad still not behaving as a mouse pointer for me, I liked the zoom being on the d pad.

I probably uploaded the wrong one. I'll update to v2 later

Tried out Vita3k today and whilst not worth it fully yet. It does work and I managed to get TxK working.

It feels slower on this so will compare on the actual Vita later.

But glad to see progress

We have a successful delivery after Evri fucked the first one. This time parcel force gave come through for me.

First thoughts is that it smells medical? Like plasters or something. Most odd.

Feels great tho. Looking forward to giving it a bash.

It just needs to get into a state to play Wipeout. Then I'm happy.

Maybe the adhesive or plastics used? That tends to emit from the fan when the deck heats up.

Sniff the vent. Cherish it. Huff the vent every time a loading screen happens.

Tried this but couldn’t get the emulator to pick up any vok files. What’s your secret sauce?

An autocorrect error. A VPK file for vita. Maybe I simply have the wrong format file for the emulator.

Oh. Nopaystation is your friend or search for Reddit ROMs megathread

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Think I have a problem with my unit.

Right touch pad is not working properly. Its insanely sensitive and is right clicking when I event hover my finger above it. I can't see any settings to adjust it and as it was doing it from the first boot I assume I'm fucked?

Wait is this in a game or in the main home scene in game mode?

It’s in the main OS, Desktop Mode or the virtual keyboard.

I have gone into testing and when you put the faintest pressure on the right pad it’s registering basically full pressure. Left pad is fine and needs a good push to register fully.

Means in desktop mode when you move mouse round screen it’s constantly selecting.

😞

Still enjoying my deck and haven't touched my consoles since I got it. Having not played pc games much over the years, I've ended up buying a bunch of cheap games. Even re-bought the Arkham Collection rather than getting Gotham Knights.

I only have one Steam friends though, so if anyone is looking for friends my code is - 60936887.

Well, with it being the weekend and Persona 5 Royal being available on Game Pass, I've finally decided to do the thing and install Windows for the Deck.

It will be the SD card method, though - I bought a cheapy Sandisk in the last Amazon sale that I don't mind thrashing, and I've figured out how to use Rufus on something other than Windows, so I don't have to crank up the big computer to fuck around and, naturally, find out.

With all the jump cuts on Youtube tutorials, I'm expecting the initial configuration and subsequent loading to be, frankly, a load of balls. But we'll see.

Edit: never mind regarding Rufus on Linux - it doesn't detect the drives when you run it through Wine. The random IT YouTube tutorial lied to me, who'd a thunk it

Anyone tried Cultic: Chapter One?  I usually watch Fan the deck on YouTube who usually gives indie game suggestions to play on the deck and this looked interesting as I’m a massive fan of 90’s style shooters

There's a demo. I played the demo, I think it's great.

Maybe a bit obscure but what's the best way to get me set up on the Deck so I can potentially talk to others whilst gaming?

Discord app installed in desktop running in the background?

Secondly, best solution then for headset?

I've the steel series 7x but that means I can't charge due to the dongle taking up the USB c slot in handheld mode so I guess wired would be preferable?

Anyone managed to find a working solution?

Cheers!

You could get a cheap USB hub thingy. That way you can charge (albeit slowly) and have the mic connected at the same time.

Almost - it doesn't keep running in the background when you switch back to Gaming Mode. You can, however, add Discord as a non-Steam 'game' and load it whenever you want in Gaming Mode, even with actual games running from what I understand.

So, I've installed Windows 11 onto an SD card.

The experience so far is.. not terrible, but definitely not sunshine and rainbows either. I followed this.

As mentioned above, Rufus is pretty much a Windows only thing, which is very annoying - mainly because I haven't turned on my windows machine in months, meaning Delivery Optimization kept hijacking my download bandwidth. After telling it to fuck off for an hour solid, I got my Windows ISO and stuffed it onto the SD card with the drivers.

The initialisation period takes ages, but the actual normal boot sequence seems.. fine? Sure, it's no Linux on an SSD level of quick, but it's like 10-20 seconds like an old school HDD. Definitely not bad for a storage medium the size of my thumbnail

There seemed to be a clash between the Lizard Mode controls and XInput - you use the right trigger, and it ends up using LMB and scrolling menus. SWICD fixes that by disabling Lizard Mode in some way, but you'll have to use the touchscreen exclusively (not terrible with Windows 11).

Also, the screen saver/power settings for turning off the screen when not in use isn't working. I'm not sure if it's because something is actively downloading, or it's just not playing ball.

Actually doing stuff is okay so far - Windows figured itself out after logging into my Microsoft account, activating my copy of Windows (hopefully), logging me into Xbox and start downloading Persona. It was a bit sluggish when first installed, but that's standard with any Windows gumpf while it's updating all the core shit. I still need to install Steam, but baby steps first.

And, surprisingly, the SD card hasn't become as hot as lava like what happens in SteamOS - which is confusing. Maybe the I/O overhead is keeping speeds down and as a result isn't heating up the card? Fuck it, idk.
