Tempted for Race Condition

I mean, it's a pound.

You can't even buy one of those sharing bars of chocolate for a pound from the co-op these days. And I should know as someone who shares them with myself.

I complained before about the frame limiter for Sekiro adding too much lag which makes it borderline unplayable thanks to the ultra tight parry windows - it otherwise runs amazing at a pretty much locked 40fps on 40hz mod.

I just discovered that if you just cap the refresh rate at 40hz but leave the frame limit uncapped then you get 40fps and no lag. Result!

Some cheap deck racers to be had in this bundle.

Just got-

80s Overdrive

Clustertruck

PocketCars

Tinker Racers

Race Condition

£2.79. I'd installed something called Honey in Chrome after some nonsense email from Paypal, popped up and saved me 20p lol.

Rude not to. Cheers.

Nice one - I added that but not yet tried. Hotshots Racing is also a good arcade racer.

Yup, got that one too - even though I have it completed on Switch.

Hotshots is great - the one thing it's missing is good levels of elevation. Was hoping for some Rage Racer style climbs and jumps.

Both galaxy and cadburys are regularly on offer for £1!

They've gone up to about £1.25 or more around my way, even on offer! There's clearance ofc, but the last thing I got from that aisle was some twixes that were basically the snack size fingers in proper double finger packaging. Genuine chocolate bars for ants  still, was a treat.

Signalis is reviewing well - hopefully, I can download it and get it working via the humble launcher on Deck before resorting to Game Pass.

That’s poor :(

Although better for your figure if you don’t buy the expensive ones or do buy the small ones. I really should avoid the big bars 😩

Regarding Emudeck, has anyone tried Amiga and Atari ST games. Is there a way I can just plonk them into a folder and then play them like roms?. Hope that makes sense.

I did for Speedball II on Amiga and whilst I got it working it wasn't an easy process unfortunately to the point I don't think I'd bother again

Ah that's a shame, can I ask please what issues were you having?.

Finding the right bios files, getting the controls set up properly were the main main ones

Same as on the desktop, was hoping to find something which I could put them on and play. Thanks for the insight bradigor. I still probably get one eventually.

Has anyone tried to install Championship manager 01/02?

The game was made free and I have seen videos of people playing it on Steam deck but can't find a tutorial.

My Deck is gathering dust and I would really like to play something I have been waiting to replay for decades.

Mine works fine. You are best to try and find lha files as they seem to work best. As well

as game Roms you need a need a kickstart image.

Yeah, I just used the fabled archive organisation to get a .zip of bios files for RetroArch, then downloaded WHDload files and put them in the Emulation/ROMs/Amiga folder that Emudeck sets up.

I don’t have my Steam Deck on me right now to tell you exactly what I did, but it was a piece of piss. I chose the Gamepad with Mouse control mapping in SteamOS so I can use the trackpads in Amiga games that use mouse controls, and pressing the Back/Share button on the Deck brings up an onscreen keyboard.

I’ve played a few Amiga games on my Deck. The only problem I’ve found is sometimes the mouse cursor gets weirdly stuck, which made playing Lemmings essentially impossible.

All this chat of emulation made me try out Batocera on a spare 32GB card I had lying around.

GBA games (Advance Wars and Metroid) worked well, as did PSP games (Loco Roco, Lumines). Gamecube games seemed hit and miss, but when I tried to install Yuzu for Switch games, Mario Odyssey's intro cutscene ran with serious framejumps and with seemingly no way to limit framerate or lower resolution. Most importantly, I could not work out for the life of me, even with Google, why the control buttons were completely different to my mapping, and *where the start/+ button was mapped to*.

Think I'll go back to Vampire Survivors for now/try Emudeck when I finally upgrade my 64GB eMMC to something meatier.

Got Vampire Survivors and Dusk in the sale. I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir here, but they’re such a great fit for the Steam Deck.

As far as Faux-Retro FPS go, I prefer Dusk to Prodeus so far.

Dusk was my GOTY when it came to switch. Far better than Prodeus - and perfect for handheld.

Anyone got Wii working well on Emudeck? I want to play Ghost Squad & HOTD etc using the touch pad as the pointer, but I just can't get it all to work right.

Either the buttond work and the touchpad doesn't or the touch pad works and the buttons don't. I can't figure out the best way to set it up.

Are there no decent community control schemes available?

Started trying a bit more batocera stuff today on the deck. It’s much more of a faff setting it up than using emudeck. Not sure it’s worth it at the moment tbh.

Don’t you just write the image to an SD card and boot it? I thought that was the point of it - it’s all set up for you.

Any experience in here on RMA turnaround? It’s for a touchpad repair.

I know it arrived in their UK RMA centre on Tuesday morning but not heard anything yet.

I know I’m being impatient but wasn’t sure if chasing is useful etc.
