Remember fellas - during Sales, give it a good 15-30 minutes while Steam falls apart in between updating prices and getting DDoS'd by its own user base!

(and you should wait a couple of days while other shops undercut Steam)

I bought Black Mesa Definitive Edition, but sadly it’s highly unsuited to controller input - massive dead zones on the sticks, yet ultra-sensitive at full tilt, even with sensitivity turned down to the lowest value. Shame, because it looks lovely, and I was quite looking forward to another play-through of Half Life.

I played through the whole of Black Mesa on a controller, a couple of years ago. When I downloaded it again for the Deck in the summer, I got similarly downhearted by it not being an easy setup. There is a way to get it comfortable, but I couldn't be fucked figuring it out all over again.

Must be a public control profile for it that works well, try looking for the top rated one and try that?

Ah, you are of course correct - community layout saves the day! Fuzzy’s Black Mesa Config to the rescue, all working well now.

It has an official layout, but all that does is map WASD to the left stick and mouse input to the right. One would be forgiven for thinking the official layout is the gold standard.

Like spacey, shooter, rogue, campaign?

can recommend Cryptark at a ridiculous £2.74

this is lovely. Took me a moment to grasp what I was doing on first ship but then ai was away clearing it up.

Grapple Dog is a nice bright looking platformer with a fluid feeling grapple hook mechanic.

Broforce worth a couple of quid too.

Am I alone in being stupid in considering buying several indie games in the Steam sale that I already own and have downloaded on my OLED Switch?

My plan is to eventually have all my Switch indie titles on my Deck.

I'd not noticed Decky Loader also has a How Long To Beat plugin. Perfect stuff.

I love that this shows it takes 19 hours to beat the main story of my battle.net install. Or 30 hours for completion.

Which seems low given I'm playing WoW.

Thanks "Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition"!

I've noticed a few times recently when you get an achievement for completing the first level in a game or putting your name in it shows you how many people have it - seems to be around the 90% mark meaning that 10% of people buy a game and never play it.

I take this as meaning it's fine to have 10% of your library sat there unplayed at any time.

thanks to being a mac owner who bought humble bundles I’m probably close to twenty percent. Maybe higher. That’s the nice thing about getting a deck - sudden backlog of playable games
