Just been trying to play the spectrum version (via Emudeck) of chuckie egg, which needs you to hit S to start.

Hitting S on the steam+X virtual keyboard doesn't do anything, any ideas?

There's a button in there to bring up the spectrum keyboard but I can't remember what it is offhand

To bring up the onscreen spectrum keyboard you have to press the select button, but that didn’t happen by default for me I had to go into the Retrarch settings, (select + Y) go to controls then port 1 controls then change device type to kempston joystick.

Been messing about with AticAtac.  Want to test out Jet set Willy, the Dizzy games and Jack the Nipper.  I believe there are still games being released.  I believe a new Dizzy game was released last year.  This is really the best machine ever when you can play decades old games, ultimate backwards compatibility.

This is my first 20 hour long haul, currently working my wah through a windy and wet Warsaw! Hired a couple more employees since yesterday and my earnings are up to around 12K a day so many riches ahead.

Hmm. Vice City also fails to load. I'm going to try a full reinstall.

this one seems another that isn't a nice green tick

are the green tick games working for you ?

I don't get Ridge Unbounded as several of us have that running clean, but as you mentioned others online have said not, which is plain odd.

So, last day of the Steam sale today. Throw some Deck verified, little known cheapo gem suggestions at me please, RLLMUK.

Or don’t, I could just as much do without any further encouragement!

How cheap do you want to go?

Although since then, I need to add more shit to it for 2023 - Tiny Rogues, Snakebird and Betrayal at Club Low for starters.

Everything I bought in sale:

Battle Brothers (~£12) - very detailed low power tactical turn based fantasy RPG. Basically turn based Mount & Blade. Played 21 hours, adore it, but it is very tough.

The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe (~£12) - missed this in 2013. Satirical walking simulator. It is funny. "Played" about 5 hours. Not sure it is worth £12 though.

Luck Be a Landlord (~£4) - some sort of roguelike deck builder? Description made it sound funny.

Superflight (~50p) - some sort of chill procedural wingsuit game, I dunno.

Bury Me My Love (99p) - visual novel about a Syrian refugee, recommended by Back Page podcast.

One Night Stand (~80p) - visual novel by someone who appeared on Back Page podcast.

Dungeons of Dreadrock (~50p) - top down dungeon crawler? Recommended here.

Kaiju Wars (£6.21) - turn based puzzle game thing. Looks a bit like Into the Breach.

As I'm massively suggestible I've just bought ETS in my final Steam splurge before the sale gates close.

Why did I have to check this thread. Thought the sale had finished. Already spent a frigging bomb on games for my Deck, thought it had finished last night for some reason. Gonna have to go for a last dash for anything else whilst cheap.

TBH, the most expensive games have been RXC (which I was a bit miffed about as it didn't twig at first, after twiddling and locking down 60fps it's clicked) and Swordship, nice but very tough and one I'd have waited to lower a good bit more in price with hindsight tbh.

The amount of two quid and under bargains specifically for my Deck has been awesome, mind. That Ridge Racer Unbounded was a good shout, I actually have an almost completed game and save on my RGH 360 but it was from launch and so it's basically like playing a new game. Bags of fun on the Deck, crazy how much better it looks and runs, fired it up on 360 and the frame-rate and visuals hurt my eyes. Good game.

Loads of 2D Souls likes that fit the Deck like a glove, many an hour of under the quilt entertainment accrued. Going to limit my final trawl to no more than a tenner in total.

Love the Deck.

Something closed back if you're in close proximity to people. I use a pair of Sony XM3s but they're BT so perhaps not ideal, I don't notice any sound lag (there'll be some for sure, mind) but with BT cans ymmv.

Depends on the Headphones and their BT hardware and your susceptibility. Not much of a rec but they're what I use.

New sale games - 33% of Midnight Suns and a rare chance to get the latest Civ heavily discounted

Midnight suns has been on sale at that discount for a while now. Not that it changes anything. Just obscured by the winter sale.

I also don't know if I'm imaging this but everything feels snappier to control - not sure if that is frame rate or

That is frame rate. You get both smoother visuals and more responsive controls!
