I worked on this at 2K LA :) I was the database manager for the QA team and I got to meet some of the devs when I worked E3 that year.

Little known fact, we spent a fair few hours testing the multiplayer (and map packs!) that never came out.

Two of my favourite projects to work on were this and The Darkness 2.

What happened to Yager?

I mean they made this, then something happened for Dead Island 2 to be yanked away from them and now they're in obscurity.

It's super sad.

They're owned by tencent now. Whatever happened with dead island 2 seems to have been a bit of a disaster for them.

On that note, Dead Island 2 is meant to be coming out in a few weeks! We'll see.

Dark Souls: PTD Edition;

It’s showing as unsupported but from a quick search, that doesn’t actually mean that it doesn’t work, just that it might have issues.

Anyone tried it / played it & are there any settings I should change?

Just get the remastered version, that has online still.

It's abandonware, so I hope this isn't breaking forum rules or owt.

If you have access to a pc, download and install outrun 2 c2c from here.

https://www.myabandonware.com/game/outrun-2006-coast-2-coast-cc3

On deck desktop mode, install bottles and create a gaming bottle.

Copy and paste the full c2c folder into the bottle.

Add bottles as a non steam game.

Change the bottles artwork to Outrun c2c.

Great success in life.

Tried that Transport Fever 2 after high praise.

Runs like shite and controls are a nightmare. Got lost with what I had to do in the tutorial as it didn't feel intuitive. Might try again down the road but feels like a waste of money. Can't get a refund as I paid a tenner on shopto for it.

What do you need Bottles for, it just works if you download it from that site & add it to Steam as a non-steam game?

EDIT

Once you’ve run the config once to set it up, I should add.

I get not liking it, but controls a nightmare? In what way?

Hard to explain. I'm just getting lost. I have been sick all week and maybe my brain isn't functioning properly. 🤪

Half Life Alyx no VR mod - looks genuine and not an April fools joke.

It's real. I saw something about it a couple of days ago then forgot to look more into it.

It's currently playable up to Chapter 7 (out of 11).

Fair enough, it should all be controller icons and UI with everything clearly marked.

Hmm, I wonder what that means for the app? A rebrand as the Epic Linux Store? GOG support getting axed?

One positive I can see is maybe better Steam Deck support for Epic store games I suppose.

FFS. That's the worst kind of April Fools "joke".  X has happened! Not really lol. Great.

Absolutely. I saw a few of those yesterday. "Dino Crisis is getting a remake - LOL!!!", "Ghostbusters prototype leaked - Not really!!!" Don't joke about things people want, you pricks :quote:

Anyway, in sale related news, Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut is £1.99

I meant to post that last bit in the Steam Sales thread. I'm glad people likes it anyway!

I really want to get into a RTS game, but find them a bit overwhelming and fast - taken a punt on Sudden Strike 4 as seen it was not developed for PC only (so has console controls) and is meant to be a bit slower paced - plus CD Keys have the complete edition for £3.49p (Steam offer is around £5 for the base game which alerted me to the game as yet another I'd not heard of the series at all).

It needs Proton GE to get the controller working properly, tutorial vids still have some artefacts on but not illegible, I also downed a couple of graphical flourishes like shadow quality and framerate to 40fps to reduce fan (still seems to use battery though) - there is a lot of it for sure with all the extra content.

MGS2 and 3 looking good via the Vulkan renderer on Xenia:

Out of interest, what's the best version of MGS1? I read that the PC version has issues, and Twin Snakes changes the tone of the original. So, uh, just the original on Duckstation I guess?
