Yea, Paramount’s website is just lying, neither Xbox nor PlayStation are listed as a supported device on the page that lists up everything that is.

So why offer a free 30 day trial on a platform that doesn't actually let you watch the service?

The app is poor once you get past the top menu as well on both

Sky Q and Samsung. No ‘intro skip’ or ‘next episode’, and on the Samsung at least, no frame view when on RWD or FFWD, so it’s pot luck if you need to skip to something.

Still no LG app. What a fucking joke; Disney had their app out day one. Still, via my chrome cast I've watched two episodes of Star Trek Prodigy, quality was great.

Ah, was just coming to post about this. All the websites say there is one but I couldn't find it.

Thought I was going mad!

If you have the Apple TV app this is apparently a channel on that.

Except, as I have posted above, on LG TVs anyway, it will only let you create a new account with a seven day free trial.  I signed up via the Xbox for the 30 day free trial and I can't log-in with that account on the LG Apple TV app.

Thankfully I found after that there is a dedicated Paramount app that I have logged in with on my Apple TV box.  Finally got to see what all the fuss was about Yellowstone.  A bit of a slow burner at first, but we found it quite compelling by the end of the first episode and my wife and I cannot wait to binge some more of it.

This is not a great service is it?

Startlingly small and thin catalogue, the usual mess of a UI, and no 4k/HDR content will see me cancelling this as soon as my free month is over.

Nice to have Frasier on hand though and I’ll try 1883 as Red Dead 2 really invigorated my interest in those early days of US colonisation/expansion.

Seen 4 eps of Super Pumped, the dramatisation I believe based on a book about the rise of Uber.

It grated a little to start as is trying to do a Big Short homage in terms of style, but isn't quite as smart as that film was about it, but once past that comparison I'm quite enjoying it. Not sure of what liberties they taken with the story but would hope some of the key plot points about fund raising, google involvement and app store shenanigans are relatively factual. I'll save the googling til it's finished, which will be an annoying 3 weeks for the other eps to drop 1 a week.

It's easily on a par with The Dropout (Theranos story on Disney) but not quite as good as We Crashed (We Work on Apple).

Paramount plus is also available as an "additional channel" on Amazon Prime Video so that is another potential avenue to watch it.  7 day free trial available for it too.  No idea if you can link it up to specific P+ subscription or trial obtained outside of Amazon though.

No 4k? In THIS economy?!

I thought that has to be incorrect, given that the US service has lots of very good quality 4K - Yellowstone, 1883, Star Trek etc. But no, lol

However, Paramount confirmed to us that there are concrete plans to support 4K/HDR and Dolby Atmos in the UK – but only at a later date.

Pretty absurd. Yet again piracy gives you better options than what you can pay for.

Saw an ad for this on TV and it seemed to go on forever, but it didn't show anything to get excited about. I think if Uma Thurman is their idea of a Hollywood legend then this is doomed. It screamed lack of content and ambition.

I expect the content to grow over time. They have a BIG back catologue of stuff they can put on there, both movies and TV. I'm disapointed that there's not more on their at launch (although there's still plenty to keep me going for a while), but I'm hopeful that it will continue to grow. If they don't put Survivor and The Amazing Race on there though then all bets are off. :D

Disney+ was pretty lacklustre at first unless you were a particular fan of their animated and live action stuff, or wanted the Star Wars and Marvel movies. It wasn't until they added the more adult oriented STAR channel and started putting out the new Star Wars and Marvel series that if became a more desireable service IMO.

So, I just tried to watch Patriot Games on this only to get a message saying it isn’t available within my region or something similar. WTF?  Why even show it and let me select play?

Do others get this?

That happened once when I was trying to watch the Beavis and Butthead movie. I quit out, restarted and it then worked. It was my TV app and it seems a little buggy.

"Still watching?"

I've had that pop up toward the end of every film I've watched on this service. And to top it off, it doesn't actually have the best Mission Impossible film on there (Rogue Nation). What a fucking joke of a service.

Found it on Netflix anyway. Crap film by todays standards anyway.

Anyone tried The Offer (assuming it is on the UK version). Just saw it on imdb with a fairly decent score. Miles Teller in a mini series about the making of The Godfather.

Yea really enjoying it. Pretty much every character seems like a cartoonish version of what that person would actually be like but as a fan of The Godfather I am enjoying finding out the backstory, assuming this is true to life.

  • 1 month later...

I want to watch P+ via my PS5, but there’s no such app.

So, is there any way to sign into my existing P+ account on the AppleTV or Prime Video PS5 apps? I see only the option of signing up to P+ again as a channel, with a week’s free trial.

Doesn’t seem to show up in my Game Pass perks. Bit odd.

Even if it did, I don’t know how I’d watch it on my TV. Does the iOS app support airplay, or does the LG TV browser work ok? Neither sound ideal.

Sent to die, it seems.

I did it this week and then realised there's no app on the Xbox and it's not on my CX.

So I resorted to iPad and airplay. With hit and miss results. Sometimes it does it without issue.  Other times doesn't want to play with the telly.

It's annoying.
