Novok doom list, plenty of scarabs to screen, troops to sit on objectives and a ghost ark to generally be annoying. 

 

VoD on the skopekh lord with 6 s destroyers, flayed ones for actions, 3 LHD with the anti infantry weapon, a doom stalker and a doom scythe for disappointing anti tank.

I'm up against Blood Angels next week - going to have to bring high AP on everything to have a chance against armour of contempt. Likely will take a similar list to yesterday but dump out the joke units (Doom Scythe & Stalker), add another unit of skorpekhs & heavy destroyers.

So I need to bring my biggest, baddest stuff with the highest ap possible and Novok again to boost ap on the charge.

6 lokust heavy destroyers (potentially 18 d3 dmg)

 

Last week this person I am playing brought a full on terminator list with dreads. Brutal.

Played against Death Guard last night and won 67-53. The player was inexperienced and so made some errors in positioning that caused a vehicle traffic jam. That and some poor threat analysis. Even still he was good and death guard are nasty with Armour of Contempt. Really hard to kill units when the entire army reduces damage by one and ap by one. 
 

I’m really looking forward to using my DG in a couple of weeks.

Local gaming store is doing a one day 1500 tournament, death guard are probably the best army to use. Maybe run my Daemon engine list for variety.

Played against Tyranids yesterday. I was tabled turn 2. God damn they hit hard in every phase. Mortal wounds dished out like candy and nothing I could do about it. 

 

Not a fun game at all really, I got first turn (I used Ravenwing) and swarmed some objectives but most of my shooting bounced (either from reduced damage, invulns or fnp). I killed one small unit for 2 points and set up my dark angels secondary for next turn. 

 

Start of my opponents psychic phase did a ton of damage, he wiffed shooting and some combat but had tagged most of my army by that point. 

 

My turn two, I max primary and get 2 points for the DA secondary. Whiff with my shooting and kill off a couple of warriors. He kills a some more models fighting back

 

Opponents turn two, my black knights, RW champion, RW apoc, three units of bikers, sammael, my dark talon, speeder, speeder vengeance, talon master all die to a combination psychic, shooting and combat.

Played against BA - opponent brought 4 primaris grav transports and a bajillion hell blasters, along side a dreadnaught. 
 

Brutal game that I luckily squeaked an 8 point win 68-60), thanks to having a painted army and the bonus 10 points. I had 5 models left on the table by turn 5

Up against Nightlords tonight, not sure what to take. 

 

I think Orks would struggle against AoC + the likely leadership debuffs NL's will bring.

 

I suppose necrons, or maybe Death Guard demon engines.

Took necrons in the end. The new war zone secondaries are great. Opponent conceded before the end of my turn 4

Necrons are fucking savage in the new war zone. I played against death guard and effectively tabled my opponent at top of turn 4. 
 

This was with a a 6 LHDs, 12 Skorps and a doom stalker novok destroyer list. I promised next time I wouldn’t bring that list as it’s deadly and flexible.

Played a game against drukari today, my opponent hadn’t played since 8th so made some mistakes that I capitalised on. Won 75-45. 
 

Goff orks are a lot of fun, the waaagh data slate changes are a good improvement.

“Knights of house Korvax we ride to war!”

 

Took my knights to the table top for the first time against custodes. Fun match but lost 62-93, it was a 6 objective game against an opponent that had 4+ invulns and fnp’s across the army. 
 

So if I can hold my own against that then I think I can do well against other armies!
