Think its the first time I've stuck with it too. Not sure about getting all the golds in the rest of the licenses though... getting to distracted with other bits of the game.. namely the cafe cards... up to the Supra one... These are great BTW and you amass a fair few decent cars as you progress through them. Great way of working through the various bits and pieces of the game too.

So whilst there is all the noise about microtransactions around the web at the moment you do get a fair chunk of game here for your money. Just wish they would allow you to buy cars / DLC with real money rather than virtual (expensive) currency. Cars that were around £5 in Sport for example are 3.5M credits = nearly £40?! What? Anyway they are optional and you can grind if you want to I guess. Just spoils things a bit knowing that those cars are already in the game locked behind a paywall.

I love the presentation and idea within the cafe menu. It's a bit of an odd thing and they've clearly looked at the brash stylings of the Forza series and gone "we're so much more cultured than that lot"

Yeeeeah wev, would be awesome to have you joining in :) - I suspect I know what your helmet design might be :sherlock:

It was on Sport!

Talking of helmets, that's one thing I am not hugely keen on with GT7; helmets and suits are locked behind Collector Levels. That's fine, but when you can't use your imported helmet from GT: Sport because you did it on a version of an Arai helmet that (as of Collector Level 18) hasn't been unlocked yet, it's somewhat frustrating :)

(Have discovered I will be unlocking it at Collector Level 23).

Bought this today and I’ve been playing a fair bit already, but just swore at the tv loud enough for my neighbours to hear as every single one of my roulette spins have given me the smallest number of credits that was there. Every. Time.  Wait, tell a lie. Had one that didn’t. That gave me the second lowest. Is this common for it to be really bad for giving the better prizes or am I just having really bad luck?

Don’t worry, I got all the best prizes so it clearly balances out! 😂

The Leaderboards on Mission Mode are screwed. Not sure if any of the other modes have issues too. They register your first time set but don’t update after that.

It's a mixed bag. The other night I got sports Suspension...................for a Tesla.

Like that's ever going to get used.

And then last night 100K in credits.

Nope same thing here. Won one car, couple of good credit payouts (10K and 30K) rest have been minimal. Even on 4* roulette cards. Better than nothing I guess. Wish it would rather just decide in the background what I've won and just tell me. Rather than having the thing spinning around showing me what I *could* have won. Same result without getting pi**ed off. :)

Yes its a bit crap when you win stuff for specific cars... shame they can't make it generic across every marque. Bah.

Sometimes I wish they would have just left these out and just given prizes or something now and again. As cute as the little tickets you get are....

Only had a handful of races doing the Daily’s but it’s already putting me in with other clean drivers now. Just had some epic battles and bagged my 1st win, which felt great after putting up with all the Destruction Derby bullshit in the first few matchups.

Not played it a huge amount but really like it this far - looks ok if not amazing but very clean, clinical and a bit bland  outside of the cars!

The pad does work well, the haptics seem decent - shame the sticks don’t have them as that really would add something.

So far the most noticeable bit is the loading, my word that transforms the game and really makes it so much better!

It does feel like an old skool GT game, thus far that feels really good - already started looking at wheels….

I’ve not played a GT since GT3, and not seriously put time in one since the first, but all the talk of it being super chill and no pressure about its mountains of content got my attention.

It wasn’t wrong! This is a real £5 cup of pourover coffee of a videogame. Just going to spend a while soaking up these technicalities and doing 5 minutes of racing every 20 minutes or so.

Yeah, I’d not played one since GT3 too. My problem with that game is you could easily upgrade your car and then just breeze through everything on the game.  That’s not the case here, which is brilliant. The difficulty seems spot on so far.

The graphics have really grown on me. The races where the light is slowly fading and then all the headlights come on look absolutely fantastic. There’s a real solidity to everything too. Plus, thrashing a car around Tokyo Expressway has got real Ridge Racer vibes! :)

Just managed to sneak a second place on the daily race at high speed ring. Although I’m not sure how people are doing 1.36 laps, when I can only get 1.40. Presumably you just have to upgrade everything, but I don’t really want to waste too much cash on a rubbish little car just yet.

Yeah, upgrades and tuning. I’ve just stuck the cheapest upgrades on the Aqua, I’ve got no idea when it comes to tuning. That’s enough to be competitive and got me to 1.35. There are still cars that are miles faster because they’ve been tuned. Have even seen folk crashing into barriers yet still winning, their cars are that fast!

I downloaded the helmet, though I do intend to try and do it myself as there's some bits I want to personalise (so remove the Jean Alesi and have the "Wev" from the racing suit).

But Schwantz X Alesi 👌

The more I play this the better it gets. Absolutely love how it feels, the handling is absolutely sublime. The little arcade style touches on the tracks though, like fireworks going off, or planes flying over etc. Proper Chef’s Kiss!

Online seems to be a waste of time atm. Get the odd really good race, but folk are now just grinding along the barriers on corners to win, instead of taking them properly. Some people! Lol. Ridiculous that there’s no penalty at all for doing that.

I did one and that was enough. Guy tried wallriding and got a 1.5s penalty so I didn’t think that was a thing. Hopefully they get some decent dailies sorted soon

Going for gold on the licence tests is very much like I remember just passing the licence tests in GT1- seemingly so straightforward but the car is a LYING PIECE OF SHIT and the track is a CHEATING CUNT

But I got that Mitsubishi GTO last night. Felt great.

I really love this game. I mean, Elden Ring is superb, but this is a racing game that has embraced the fact everyone who liked the first three are now tired dads who want to be slowly massaged from car race to car race by smooth jazz and gentle user-input tones.

Going for gold

The heat is on, the time is right

It's time for you, for you to play your game.

'Cause people are coming, everyone's trying

Trying to be the best that they can

When they're going for... going for... Gold!
