Oh fucking hell seven gifts!

Higurashi When They Cry 6-8 (visual novels about murdering your friends)
Retrowave (I think it's a racing game? I dunno the picture looked awesome)
A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986 (another visual novel)
Exapunks (Read Zines! Write Viruses! Hack Everything!)
Monolith: After The End (Procedurally-generated top-down shooter)

Thanks, Santa - can't wait to get stuck into all of these when the Christmas madness dies down

A very generous Santa this year! I particularly appreciate that mine took a look at my list, and clearly thought 'fuck it, not weird enough', and added the pleasingly odd Hylics and Glass Masquerade into the mix

So, I've got the following to get through:

  • Puzzle Fighter/deck builder hybrid Puzzle Strike, which I've been wanting to try for years
  • Surreal... thing Hylics, which I've previously seen and thought 'that looks odd', and now get to experience for myself! I'm actually quite excited by this one :D
  • Gorgeous 1-bit horror RPG World of Horror, which I can't wait to get my teeth into (or to get its teeth into me, I suppose)
  • Sumptuous cyberpunk point and click VirtuaVerse, which I honestly don't know if it'll actually be any good, but I've wanted to try it purely for its aesthetic
  • Stained glass puzzle game Glass Masquerade, which I know nothing about, but looks genuinely great; a very pleasant surprise

So yeah, plenty to get through, thank you very much to my generous Santa! In fact, the games may come in particularly welcome as I decided to build up a sore throat this evening and, though the lateral flow has come up negative, I'm holing up in my bedroom for the foreseeable to avoid the risk of passing on anything nasty to my mum/brother/housemate. Unless I'm miraculously better come tomorrow, my Christmas day entertainment may be restricted to my laptop, so having a selection of new laptop-friendly games is about the best gift I could have!

Merry Christmas! My secret Santa apparently wanted me to play all the Shadowrun games, Return of the Obra Dinn and Wizard of Legend, none of which were on my list but are very, VERY gratefully received.

I also got Inscryption and soundtrack, Gunfire Reborn and the House Flipper Garden dlc. Whoever you are, you're an absolutely beautiful human being and I genuinely am humbled by your generosity.

Ooh, thank you very much @JPR and mystery Santa! A lovely pair of gifts to keep me occupied. ^_^

I received:

Delver - I saw this in a Humble bundle earlier this year and I dithered too much and never picked it up  but it seems like a nice piece of 3D Roguelike fun.

FTL: Faster Than Light - this is a surprise inclusion that wasn’t on my list, but I’ve heard lots of good things about it and it looks like a fun little game of resource-juggling.

I feel like those will definitely keep me occupied when the festivities have died down; thank you so much  and thanks to @JPR for arranging this again.
