I think it's much better than I was expecting it to be, but I'm not getting carried away (not yet anyway). I'm playing on Steam Deck and it's great on that, one enjoying it so far - only a few hours in. It reminds me of Solar Ash and The Pathless. 


What settings are you getting and what performance? It runs pretty badly on mine - I get a reasonably steady 30fps but a fuzzy resolution and lots of lighting issues.

For those on Steam Deck - set the fps to 60, resolution to 1280x800, rendering scale to 50% and graphic quality to Low. It makes the text almost unreadable, but still perfectly playable. Though I suspect that it's hammering the battery life because I didn't get a lot of mileage out of it.

Regardless of any other settings, putting it at 60fps on steam deck just gives me a constant strobe light flickering. Did you find a way to get rid of this?

This has just been patched I think - I didn't encounter the bug as got the platinum but sure it's in the patch notes

The reviewer complains that sonic handles bad which has a knock on effect on the combat, can't say I agree on either point and seeing as multiple people in this thread have said Frontiers Sonic is the best he has ever controlled in 3D I'm going to wholeheartedly disagree with that statement. The controls are perfectly fine and offer a ton of fine tuning options in the controls as well.

Sonic controls really well, and it’s fun to chuck him around the world. Genuinely don’t know how controlling a super-fast character could be any better. The game has flaws but the controls is one of the best things about it.

 

Had a quick go of Sonic Adventure 2 a few days ago and he controls like shit in comparison.

I'm on about Pokemon Scarlet, but i'm sure you knew that already. Actually I dont even know anymore. I am tired of this thread. Arguing with the same few people who never had any intention of ever buying it telling those of us who actually did that we're wrong for enjoying it. In any other thread, that would be trolling. I've said my piece on this game, and got 33 hours of enjoyment out of it. The comments from others in here who actually played it, are all mostly positive. So make of that what you will, and i'll leave dekay to do his hilarious, rib-achingly funny thread edits. 🤭
