D-Side
But with a twist. Six games. Six 'styles'. Games that most suit the descriptive words as listed below. Reasons for omittance and inclusion to be judged by myself on the basis of general consensus or popularity amongst thread posts. I've used recent examples as a starter, just for you to get the idea. The catagories are: Aggression. Fear. Speed. Mystery. Dexterity. Euphoria. The games as they stand: Doom Project Zero F-Zero GX Beyond Good and Evil Super Monkey Ball Gitaroo Man
squirtle
Aggression - Fear - Project Zero Speed - Mystery - Shenmue 1+2 Dexterity - Dancing Stage Euphoria - Gitaroo Man Agression and speed sound fine as you have them.
D-Side
Now now Mr Squirt, we need reasons for omission and inclusion as per usual.
squirtle
Ok... Project Zero because no other game has shit me up so god and proper that I still have yet to finish it. Been on the third night for so long now but just can't face going back to it. Shenmue 1+2 - What the hell is going on? By the end of number 2 we are left on the biggest cliff hanger. Who is Lan-di? What's the sword for? Just who is Shen-hua? The whole game is one lone mystery hunt fuelled by a revenge drama. Dancing Stage - can you think of any other game where you have to be so dextrous to be good at it? Or have I mis read that and you mean a game where the character is dextrous? Gitaroo Man - Legendary Song. Simple as.

D-Side
I'd go with Project Zero, but there's this inkling that tells me to side with Silent Hill 3. I've not played it, but it has to be as scary as Fatal Frame, surely? Someone in the know, let us know before I pop in PZ. That said, CS is pretty fucking scary. Someone add some thought to this one. Shenmue 1 + 2. Hmmm. I'd say the main plot was highly predictable, but it is mysterious in a sense. Dancing Stage. Any dancing game would sit well here, but what's the most knackering out there? Personally, I find shaking ones arms to be more tiring. Know what I'm saying? Gitaroo. Double hmmm.
squirtle
Project Zero > Silent Hill in the scare stakes. Silent Hill 1 is the freakiest and scariest of the SH's. You could have Eye Toy over Dancing Stage. I'd be happy with either. But you said dexterity. And Dancing Stage trounces Eye Toy in that area. D-Side
Can't we just make a normal list? No. If we do it this way, people tend to think about it, discussion flows, and no doubt at some point, someone will get really hysterical and ruin the whole thing. But let's just enjoy the peace while it lasts. is this what it's like in advertising? Hey! Let's freefall! Don't! Fucking! Know! Ask! Duncan! Yes! Duncan! The! Bear! D-Side
Change Nadger One The catagories are: Aggression. Fear. Speed. Mystery. Dexterity. Euphoria. The games as they stand: Manhunt. Project Zero. F-Zero GX. Beyond Good and Evil. Prince of Persia. PGR2. Project Zero has broken in. CS is out, although I feel it may turn up in Aggression at some point. Kelthink
I'd put 'Pro Evo 3' in aggression. God, as good as it is, it makes me mad. Oh wait, I've missed the point again.
The Liberal Elite
Aggression. - watching dan get angry Fear. -worrying that dan'll kill us for not playing properly Speed. - pressing f5 loads of times to see if dan has replied yet Mystery. turning on 'hidden' so dan can't see us Dexterity. - alt tabbing really quickly to look at another site quickly Euphoria. - watching everyone ignore dan's rules. D-Side
I dunno. It is an aggressive game of football, but then most sport intepretations are. I'd say it was more dextrous in a sense, but that intuitive layout does make all the reflex action effortless.

I have my own version: Aggression : Smacking Duncan in his fat face until he falls unconscious in a bloody mess. Fear: Genuine concern that he might not actually wake up. That's as far as I've got, and I'm not overly convinced by 'fear'.
Sprite Machine
Euphoria's gotta be Rez, ain't it? Reasons? Erm... oh come on! What else is up to the job?!
D-Side
Tempest 2K? Halo? SF2? It's that feeling of being at one with pad. I'm not entirely sure Rez does that, but it certainly is sensually overwhelming.

'One-with-the-pad' has never, ever been so true for me than that.
emjay2kay
To be honest, I don't think some of them can be replaced. Speed and Aggression certainly don't look like they are going to be moved.
Mike1812
Surely Wario Ware can go with speed? Quckest games I've ever played.
D-Side
Change Nodule Two The catagories are: Aggression. Fear. Speed. Mystery. Dexterity. Euphoria. The games as they stand: Doom Project Zero F-Zero GX Beyond Good and Evil Prince of Persia Gitaroo Man Change in the House of Windsor. PGR2 out, GM in. I've also taken the liberty of supplementing Manhunt for Doom. Although Manhunt is pretty high on the murdertasty scale, it cannot possibly beat the all out carnage of Doom. Run, kill, run, kill, kill, open door, kill, run. It's that simple. It's kill after kill after kill. And then some more killing. So it's slightly aggressive. D-Side
Surely Wario Ware can go with speed? Quckest games I've ever played. Different interpretations. I like that. But surely it's all about the dexterity?
Mike1812
I would have PGR2 in dexterity. Think cone challenges. You need to be in complete control of your car & pad at all times to get a decent score.
D-Side
I'm putting four forward for the dexterity challenge: PGR2 - As above. Frequency - Nimble finger time. Wario Ware - Reaction is all. Dancing Stage - Obvious. It's your decision people.
Kelthink
It's obviously Wario Ware since that is the most random - the others can be learned. Sure, the games in Wario Ware can be learned, but it's presentation is mostly random. And it's Wario Ware. It should win everything.
