Max entered with his 2021 mindset, took too many risks, elbows out and diving in to corners. Paid the price but the car control he displayed when he did that handbrake turn was epic. He did well to get back to 8th.

I think Perez did a good job, he held off a lot of pressure, and had to rebuild the lead multiple times, let alone pass to take the lead in the first place, while everyone else has been locking up and smashing into walls.

Tad harsh.

All that time Charlie was on him like glue when the car could have been half a second a lap faster. I don’t think it’s harsh. Yeah he kept it on the island, well done for doing at least the minimum.

Others dropped it sure, but all the other cars are shitboxes compared to the RB. He was driving waaaay under the potential of the car. Way easier to keep on the island.

Tad harsh! but there's some truth in there, I agree. Let's say it was a great performance by Checo standards.

How many risks are appropriate? At this track, diving into corners is literally the only way to overtake.

Drivers need to realise that the safety car's job is not to help them maintain their tyre temperatures. They've all complained about SC speed at one time or another, but shaking your hand at it to hurry up is a step beyond. Time for the FIA to make it crystal clear once and for all that you don't question what speed the SC is instructed to drive at.

And the complaining about the SC going slow is hypocritical anyway as they're all more than happy to back the field up to a crawl once they become the pace setter

Yup but max without the pressure to win WDC on his birthday would have driven better.

Charles should have been able to stay within 5 seconds, having done so for the entire race but apparently he said he didn't have deg on his tyres but had deg on himself, so it seems he might have become exhausted.
