Well that was possibly the best 33 minutes of the season!

Stroll needs more than just starting at the back after that one.

well done George!

Red Bull not swapping positions for points seems silly at this point in the season, nice way to say Perez doesn’t matter without saying Perez doesn’t matter..

Hopefully the stewards don’t take too long on this one.

Stroll deserves a race ban for that, it was awful.

Pleased for George, hopefully they will carry some pace into the race tomorrow.

Max proving up to his usual antics pushing George and Carols off in his concede or crash manner.- good to see him take some damage for a change and the others are wise to his antics so let him run himself wide and get him on the swticharoo

Alonso blaming anyone but himself for driving into the back of Ocon and fucking up his front wing.

I think Occon defi didnt give him enough room at the start but the main point is he is playing Alonso like a fiddle - much like any half decent driver has done over the years.

I am excited by the idea that Mercedes  have turned the corner on their car development and look like they might be able to make the whole zero sidepods concept work and be properly competitive instead of having to start over from square one.

I fully expect Max to win today but at least we can now entertain the idea that Mercedes and Ferrari (I'm working on the idea that they moved on to next year's car earlier than planned and that's why their development has stalled) will be able to mix it with Red Bull next year.

Ferrari need to sort out the strategy side more than the technical.  So many unforced errors in pit calls is what’s cost them dear. The possibility that they end up third with the shitbox of a car that is the Merc is hilarious.

I know they've made multiple unforced strategy fuck ups but I'm also reasonably certain that some of that is down to their tyre degradation issues and them trying to come up with "creative" (let's be generous) solutions to that issue.

The flip side to what I was saying about hopefully having three teams challenging for wins next year is that the gap between third, currently Mercedes in a car that's been derided most of the year, and fourth is the biggest it's been in years. Hopefully the cost cap rules will help things next year but I fear that Norris third at Imola this year is going to be the last podium by a non big three team for quite a while.

Ferarri was competitive till that flexi floor plank rule change came in.  That fucked them harder than it did Red Bull I assume due to the approach they've both taken with how their floors work. They'll be up there fighting next year with Merc and Red Bull.   Red Bull still favourites in my eyes.

As for today.  I hope Lewis gets a win. I'm a sucker for unique records so would be nice to carry on his art least 1 win in every season he's raced record.  Lewis knows he can play a bit looser with Russel. George is still in that phase of avoid collision with team mate at all costs.  Might be different next year.
