Max doesn’t think he should be punished for doing the Max ‘I’m not making the apex, move out of the way or crash’ maneuver 😂🤣😂🤣😂

He really has terrible race craft - he has ably demonstrated that all weekend but the shocker is the stewards have finally taken note 😱

Rule 43

subsection (ii)

Time penalties shall only be applied to max verstappen where he is clearly at fault if:

(a)he is already world champion

in all other instances race control and race stewards should defer to redbull team management.

it was a repeat of Monza last year. Max was ahead because he braked later going into the corner and when Hamilton took his line Max crashed into him. Max got a penalty then so deserved one now. Hopefully Hamilton can make up the deficit to Russell.

Brundle’s point which is basically that Max had earned more room works, except at that point on the circuit, with the speed and trajectory Max had, he’s basically forcing Lewis wide and off the track as he heads straight on, or, he’s backing out so much he’s watching Lewis pull away anyway, it doesn’t work, it’ll never work, it’s a stupid move and it’s a penalty all day long.

Charles to Max gap, is that the power of the undercut? I know max had the 5second penalty, but Charles was behind and I thought by a few seconds too.

Max had a slow stop as well as the penalty

Was talking with my dad about Adrian Newey earlier today, he told me he used to be around the club motorcycle racing circuit when my dad had mates racing and tried making fairings for sidecars out of paper mache, obviously it didn't really work as they would have vibrate themselves to pieces or melt in the rain.

not sure how true that is though, just thought it was a fun story to share.

This is looking good for Mercedes if they can carry this pace into next season. Especially as they will be able to fix the fundamental flaw they found in this years car but couldn't fix due to abiding by the rules and keeping within the cost cap.

It's giving McLaren 1997 vibes
