Moon Knight - Disney+ - March 2022

May as well have its own thread now.

 

Looking better than I ever thought they'd do a Moon Knight show. On the glimpses we have here its not quite what I'd want too have them do but it's not bad.

There's scope with Moon Knight to go a bit Jacob's Ladder-y... I wonder if this has. There's bits here that indicate that may be the case.

 

Hyped anywho. And coming way sooner than expected.

How much do you want to know? There's more to him than being a colour swapped Batman who is not above murder, which opens the door for some cool stuff.

More or less Mark Spectre was a mercenary. Got killed, brought back by the Egyptian god Konshou. Develops Disassociative Personality Disorder. Dies a bunch more times.

 

Comes back, it is revealed he does not have multiple personalities but has the 4 aspects of the Konshou in his head.

 

He has been an Avenger. He works with the cops right now. He is Batman who has no problem shedding necessary blood and is damn crazy too boot. Oh and he is super rich.

 

Please I hope we see this iteration of Moon Knight...

Having now just read a little about the character, I can't say it does anything for me - but then I don't care for Batman either (I see they are different, but still quite similar in a number of ways.)

 

Having now caught up to date with all the TV shows and films, I'm still not seeing anybody that I feel stands as a powerful, uniting character that has the presence or stature to lead whenever the next team-up movie comes around, and perhaps that's why my enthusiasm is waning, rather than feeling burnt-out by the formula?

I think you probably hate it, Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey run was most excellent though if you can read it*

 On a tangent but talking of Night Man which belonged to Malibu Ultraverse . One of the premiere characters from that universe was Prime written by Gerard Jones, who was found to be a convicted pedo.

Shit, is that Kelley Jones? I guess I should have twigged from the tattered cape style but without Batman's ears extending off the page I have to admit I didn't see it. Also, why does Wolverine have an arse for an arm? I know he's a mutant but c'mon.

I’ll give it a watch. 
 

I read a few of the comics when it was all to do with Alien abduction etc. 
 

And then I’ve dabbled a couple of times, and there was a great storyline during one of The Avengers runs which had a nice take on Mental Health.

 

They look like they want to play with it roots a little which is good but as with the last few Marvel series I will most likely stick with it to see who the next crossover character or cameo will be!
