Retro Arcades in South East?

I know the North has a couple of arcade places but are they any down South? In London or any of the big cities?

Alternatively, does anyone know of any places where you can go with your mates and play some racing games with the full wheel setup etc?

I know overheads would be horrendous but is there a market for a big one in central London?

There used to be one in the basement of the building next to the London eye.. not sure if it's still there though.

Neon Knights, Leigh On Sea.
The Four Quarters, Peckham, South East London.

Four Quarters, Hackney Wick, East London.

I'm thinking of popping down to Neon Knights tomorrow evening if anyone else is around and fancies a visit? I know we talked about doing it as a mini-meet in the other thread.

It seems it's just open evenings at the weekend, anyone know if that's right? And does that mean it's not possible to visit at a time when the arcade and the shop next door are both open?

The Namco place with a bowling alley? It was still there just before Covid kicked off.

Southend has got Astro City which has free play sessions for a couple of hours on Fridays and Saturdays for £5. It's not quite Arcade Club, but they have a pretty decent selection of machines.

It's in the town centre rather than the seafront. I meant mention it in that thread about the arcade being for sale but I never got around to it. 🙃

I did mate, but only to the shop ... Didn't get time to go to the arcade as I spent so long going through the mags and nattering to Ally. Going to go back next Saturday and check out Neon Knights, you going to be around?

Enjoyed my trip to Neon Knights at the weekend. Highlight was probably me and my mate playing through every stage on every difficulty level on Point Blank. Also played just about every game in there (quite small but very nicely curated selection of cabs...) Namely SF2, Outrun 2, Golden Axe, Space Invaders, Galaxians, Silent Scope (scope viewer is currently broken), Donkey Kong, a tennis game that might have been Virtua Tennis, a multi-game Neo Geo one, Defender, Asteroids, couple of pinball tables and a few more I've forgotten!
