It's great when you get all 6 weapons leveled and evolved and you wade through the masses destroying everything in your vicinity. 

 

I'd did try getting to the bottom of the Gallo tower last night to unlock a secret character (using the Witch with cat) and still got murdered around the 25 min mark as my setup was off. Did manage to unlock the little white dog though!

Evolved Knives is just the death of bosses. Everything that comes at me just gets pinned and destroyed.

 

I think that, Bibles, the diamond things and Lightening Ring are now my go tos. They can sometimes make things a bit easy, though.

 

Saying that, in my last two games, I died at 29:18 and 27:44. So not that easy.

 

I've unlocked the Arcana now. So that's something new to try.

I didn't even pay that much, it's on Game Pass. 

 

I will, however, be buying the dlc. Which I believe will be out on the 15th and will cost just under $2.

My random character is crazily overpowered now - got around 6000 eggs on him. Nearly unusable really.

 

On a random tip note, you can press B twice to speed up the chest opening animation. Particularly useful on endless runs.

Got the family an Xbox series x for Christmas. They don't know. I've been slowly downloading games whilst they are out in the hope I can get it sorted before the schools break up. 

 

Anyway i've now put in about 3 hours of this on my shiny new next gen console. 

 

I've just cleared the first stage. Up until now I've been dead after about 10 minutes but suddenly I got so powerful I could have basically sat still and not be touched right up to death. Weirdly, and I don't know if this is particularly skillful of me, I didn't get to evolve any weapons during this run.  

 

Previously I had evolved one of them so I can see how it works, but I guess I managed to select a particular combo that didn't fit.....despite being basically impossible to kill so it was actually a great fit.

Day one for the digital DLC both on Steam and the MS store. I mean why not? I have the points to buy it outright.

I nailed this on PC, I've spent the same amount of time doing the same on Game Pass, for no other reason than it was there. I don't need another reason to play it. It's all consuming already.

Yes I think that’s just a slow starting character. Seems amazingly faithful - but as a mobile game you need to be able to quit out and resume, which this doesn’t do.

 

But it’s free - no iaps as far as I can tell? Amazing!

This iOS version is fantastic, the monetisation seems to come from getting a revival for watching an ad, and being able to get a bit of extra gold the same way, so very unobtrusive.

 

I guess when you go back to the start it’s much easier as you understand the game’s tricks. I beat the Hag on Library on my third game, which is pretty good going I think!

Collection finished and Boss Rash done. Found a completely broken build/tactic for the latter on reddit.

Pick Porta, then the Game Killer arcana and buy all the weapons of the vender. She starts with -90% cooldown which you have forever thanks to Game Killer. Halfway through you can use the Groove arcana that drags all the powerups to you, to make it even easier.

 

Looking forward to the dlc! Perfect timing for me.

I’m amazed how well this runs on iPhone. It sometimes chugs on my M1 Pro, but the phone hasn’t given a flicker, and it doesn’t seem any less populated.
