Been playing this on Xbox and PC via GamePass. Is there a way to see total hours played?

I probably don't want to know.

On xbox you can see it when Vampire Survivors is the active game by pressing the big xbox button and then going to the Stats item in the Game Activity tab.

Not sure if there is an easy way to see all activity or cross platform activity.

For me I've clocked up almost 2 days & 22 hours (70 hours).  I've completed both the main game and the dlc and have 100% of the chievos.

I'm well aware that this looks like a stupid question but hear me out:

Does Endless mode ever end?

By which I mean...

Spoiler

I know it means the reapers don't come and end you after 30 minutes, but do the type and/or quantity of enemies keep increasing until you will eventually be overwhelmed anyway?

Or, if you're powerful enough, does it literally just run and run forever / until you quit?

Right, I need the Great Gospel however the Secret Items disappear at the very start of the stage (Cappella Magnata?) meaning I don't have the necessary tools to destroy the reapers at the end. Any clue as to how to make these items reappear?

No, they dont keep on directly increasing.  At 30 minutes, instead of the reaper appearing the level basically resets to the beginning and starts another 30 minute cycle but the monsters are stronger, do more damage and more of them appear more quickly.  It ramps up again and again with each cycle until you are overwhelmed or quit

You need the Yellow Sign:

I have it. Everytime I start the Cappella stage though, the items (Rings, Left/Right) literally disappear, like purposefully with a sound effect and everything! Other stages this doesn't happen.

Oh, I don’t think they stay on that level because you don’t need them as there’s no red reaper, you just fight the amalgam one you can destroy with any build.

Don't you just keep running? That's what I did anyway. Like in all games where that happens.

You do, but after a while a never-ending chain of reapers come after you and there's nothing you can do about it as you have no power ups or experience gems.

Looking on the stage select menu, however, the stage is there by itself to retry, so maybe it's just a case of selecting the right starting character.

I find the Garlic a great early option to survive a 30 min run, maybe pair it with the Santa Water and Bible for maximum "everything near you dies" energy. Those three evolved as a great combo. Plus probably something that shoots for earlier when the Garlic is strong, but the others are too weak. The Axe is another one that's good at area in the end, but weak at the start.

What's a good build for the first area of the game? I still can't get past 23 minutes.

Have done better on other areas but that first one is a pain

Depends on starting character but I'd have these 4.

Whip and Hollow Heart

Axe and Candelabor

Fire Wand and Spinach

King Bible and Spellbinder

With either Santa Water or Garlic.

Don't think you have access to rings or metaglio yet?

How are you supposed to do that level where you lose all your power ups and run to the right while a flying thing shoot stuff right at you?

You need a character who has a reliable area attack, like the whip. The key to completing it is moving and dodging while picking up chickens as best you can, so you don’t want randomised attacks.

Is there a trick to getting to the coffin in Gallo Tower? I follow the arrow to the question mark, but it seems to lead out into empty space, off-screen, and there's a wall in the way. I've tried looking for a switch or using the fireplaces nearby to trigger something, but nothing doing.

Spoiler

There's a trick window (or mirror) about level with the arrow, on the other side on the Tower to the direction it's pointing.

The best basic weapons are magic wand, bible and water. Forget axe and fire wand. Knives are also very good with those three.

Are these facts, or opinions? I'd essentially come to the conclusion that it's mostly a question of what drops and what pairs well together (for example, the axe might not be "best" but because its evo is the Candelabra, it feels like it's a good pair to Bible/Garlic/Water) but if it turns out that there are some actual "best" choices, I might change things up.
