Would appreciate more verification on this, which I've only done once:

Q: How do I pick up my souls when they're stuck on a bastard boss room?

A: Run in, pick them up, and turn the console off. You'll respawn outside the room when continuing.

How do I use summons like the wolf/jelly fish things?

Assign them to the dpad panel on the right of the screen when you press option/menu. Hover over the slot, press Y/Triangle. Then when you want to summon them hold Y/Triangle and press the appropriate dpad direction

Or you can just put them on your belt, same as your healing flask, if you don’t mind cycling through to get to them.

Is there a combo to use the 2 slots in the pouch that aren’t covered by the dpad quickly?

Not that I know of, but remember you can equip certain consumable items to the down dpad button, so you can quickly cycle to them. It's probably easier to do that then hit start and then travel across to the item you want to use on the 'pause' menu.

Easily Missed Pro Tips:

- You can attack left or right from the horse with the L1/R1 buttons on console for light attack and L2/R2 for heavy attack.

- You can aim manually with bows, and some crossbows by switching to double-handed mode, and then using L1 on consoles to aim. R1 and R2 fire from the two arrow slots in your inventory.

- Zoom in and out with aim mode on bows or the telescope with D-pad up and down.

Any tips on dealing with good old fashion poison? I'm buying up every crafting recipe I can find but still can't cure myself.

Keep looking for more recipes, there is a bolus you can craft from green ingredients such as cave slime which does the job.

Press start and go to the top right of the screen for pouch. You'll see two spaces to assign items from your inventory. Then when playing hold down Y/triangle and press left or right on dpad (I think those are the only ones you can use)

Question. Weapon skills cost FP to use. Which is a bit annoying cos I use FP for spells also and love my stabby moves. But I can still do the weapon skill when I have no FP. So what's the deal? Do weapon skills do less damage if you don't have enough FP to pay for them? Try out the Square Off moves for example with swords, I can't see any difference between FP and no FP, but I haven't directly compared damage numbers between the two.

Also holding L2 or R2 on horseback does continuous damage while the attack is charging, so you can kill some stuff easier with a drive-by rather than timing your strike.

Yes they do less damage  I use ground stomp. With FP it creates a larger area of effect and stagger, without FP it just does some damage with a small stagger

Public Service Announcement:

You can double jump with the horse.

I probably would have never found this out if someone in the forum thread hadn't pointed it out. Does the game ever tell you?

Don't think so but I always try for double jump in games so basically seen it right away. Just a word of warning though, you can't use the second jump during a fall to go a large distance and then use the second jump to land safely, it goes by the distance from the first jump. Found that out the hard way!

you dont have to turn off the console, you can "save and quit".

IN FACT

Whenever you save and quit, it will reset all enemies to their "default" potions ...you can use this to your advantage
