Not going this year due to my trip to DC.

I was just talking about the Giants - Dolphins game. FIFTEEN years ago today. Such a shit game but a great experience.

That game was such a slog, just remember sodden turf and players slipping about all over the place. Still, saw the Phins lose in person so in that moment felt wholly connected with the organisation.

Today at Wembley was a bit dryer, and good fun. Not a great game, but had some moments of quality from Wilson and Travis Etienne. As with every live game, impressed with the speed of the game. Saw a couple of touchdowns and the game was live until the last play, so a good day out.

Ours were a few quid under £100. I’m not sure what the tiering was like for pricing otherwise.

Second time at an NFL London game and would go again, but probably try for Tottenham’s stadium next year and maybe save for a hospitality seat. Wembley is too much of a shitshow to get out of and don’t think they do a great job post-game. Stadium bars closed long before the end, and it took an hour of wandering around to get in anywhere around the stadium.

I know they are still unbeaten and it’s probably just that I really don’t like them but I just don’t think the Eagles are very good 😂

They aren’t, hell most of the NFL sucks this season, almost every teams O-lines are complete shit, most of the hyped young QB’s are average at best and half of the teams can’t run the ball that well - another problem caused by the crappy offensive lines every team has.

My Titans are once again going to easily win the AFC south and probably win 10 or 11 games, yet we don’t have a single decent receiver and our QB gets hit or sacked on almost every single play.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Bills look properly solid, as do (to a slightly lesser degree) the Chiefs. Outside of that, it all feels a bit sketchy. Eagles are the kind of team you'd imagine that when they do finally lose a game, their momentum will just hit a brick wall and they'll lose quite a few. The whole NFC feels pretty average. There's the Giants and Vikings who are 6-2 and 6-1 despite both being pretty patchy and having a bunch of problems.

Really weird season.

Depends where you go really, food etc can be mega expensive $100 for a pizza iirc at the cowboys but they're the most expensive and is a glorified mall. I always fancied a southern college game where the rivalries are real there's the bands etc.

Can anyone explain what is pass interference and what isn't? For example; the Bills' last play in the Bills - Jets game last night - link (timestamp 13:21). Defender not looking at the ball and both hands are on the receiver. Isn't that PI? No one even seemed to mention the possibility. Ball even goes right through the receiver's arms.

I was watching it and the playcalling in the second half really confused me. Derrick Henry was unstoppable in the first half. Chiefs knew it was 99% sure he was going to get the ball, but just couldn't do a thing about it. Was averaging almost 10 yards per carry!

Second half, he's being used on maybe one down per series. Saw him standing on the sidelines, apparently completely healthy, during many third-and-shorts. Was really baffling, unless he picked up a knock they didn't want to let people know about.

Our play calling is often baffling, we would have beaten the Bengals in the play offs last season if we had gone for it on 4th and Inches, but instead we punted it away and the game ended up going into overtime.

It has to do with place and timing, is the ball in air when in contact? But its also subjective, but if the defender isn't looking at the ball it's usually given if there's enough contact. Is the foul actually stopping the ball being caught? Or was it just not caught?

I just watched the link and it was fair to me. If the WR had been knocked over I'd say PI

If you haven’t seen it, check out the Disney+ docu ‘Al Davis vs the NFL’ (though it’s basically Al vs Pete Rozelle). Really well done NFL film, once you get past the weird CGI renditions of both men that they use as occasional narrators (proper nightmare fuel). Loads of fantastic footage of the ‘70s Raiders and the whole Oakland/LA/Oakland farrago.

Disney+ is a goldmine for sports docs. Also worth checking out The Four Falls of Buffalo, among others, but you can pretty much hit play on ESPN’s 30 for 30 series and get an interesting hour or more.

Munich this year, Frankfurt next, I believe. And then possibly alternating between them forevermore but who knows. Apparently they had about 3 million people try to get tickets for this one game so they aren't struggling to sell it out, the whole lot went like Glasto.

I was just hearing about OBJ and his Rams deal. His fee was $750k which he took in bitcoin and paid 50.3% federal tax and California state tax 7.25% on that $750k.

From Yahoo "that his entire salary is now worth only $413,000 USD as opposed to the $750,000 USD, excluding taxes. Once taxes are factored in, OBJ makes around $35,000 USD which equates to just one Bitcoin.

If you include agent and manager fees he lost almost $200k on the deal.

Probably worth it for a Super Bowl ring since I'm sure he's not broke
