Wait she’s a green lantern now?

Where’s the embiggan? :(

There was a little bit of that in the trailer. But I'm guessing they made the change because Multiverse of Madness is almost here and, let's just say, they may be another person on that film whose able to grow and stretch certain body parts....

Agents of SHIELD does loads of stuff with Inhumans, and mostly does it pretty well. It's a shame that show is kept at arms length from the MCU because it basically gives Ms Marvel her origin story.

I vaguely recall it being declared "non-canon" a while ago, along with the Netflix shows and almost certainly Inhumans.

AoS' version of the Inhumans were basically mutants anyway, so I imagine Disney want to brush them under the rug now that they have the actual X-Men.

The change to her powers just seems pointless really, but hey that’s the MCU for you.

Can kinda understand it if you consider she basically has Reed Richard's powers so they're not wanting it duplicated.. (plus that has never looked good onscreen)

Besides, giving her cosmic energy based powers ties her in more closely with Carol and Monica..

If the wristband thing is the source of the powers, it's also a nod to when Hulk sidekick Rick Jones was (sort-of) Captain Marvel for a bit when he wore similar devices..

Multiverse gives them an out with all the pre Disney+ series.

This is my take, same with the Netflix stuff, all happened but in different universes etc. Doesn't rule out future cross overs.

It also feels similar to Shang-Chi's power rings. More alien tech giving human super-human like abilities is something we're getting very used to seeing.

Except that a certain Netflix character appeared briefly in "our" universe in Spiderman: No Way Home, implying that those characters are all drifting around somewhere during the events of all the MCU movies

That’s the point though surely, every universe has its own version of those characters so they can bring them in from Netflix/wherever without being beholden to the actual events or storylines that have been shown. Best of all possible worlds (multiverses).

Agreed, my guess is these versions of

Spoiler

Matt Murdock and Kingpin

that we have seen in recent MCU are different versions to their Netflix counterparts, even if played by the same actors. Same way we will potentially see Fox-verse stuff like X-Men and Deadpool being introduced.

Anyway going back on topic, this might be the series to get my daughter into Super Heroes. I'm excited from that aspect (she already picked up the music from Tik Tok being used in the trailer).

That was beautiful! So visually inventive and colourful. Proper Into the Spiderverse vibes too. Liked what they did to the Inhumans, the lamest of all comic book gangs.

Obviously it’ll stretch out a wafer thin story over 6 episodes and in the end everyone will eventually say it’s shit like all the Marvels, but at the moment, it’s lovely and so good to see a chill Muslim family right in the middle of the mainstream and just generally being funny and sound.
