Yeah, I didn't even think that far, I just knew which version it was 

Spoiler

because the NES version is significantly uglier and has a more generic cursor. Worth looking up if you've not seen it before, just to see how they translated the aesthetic.

Yeah - I remembered the 'X' first and the rest clicked in an 'Ahah!' moment.

 

One of those games that I never played at the time, but which has such an iconic visual style, and crops up in so many '...of all time' lists and retrospectives, you just know what it is.

If it was a still from one of a trilogy of iconic films I’d watched decades ago, I expect I’d get it right every time.

 

Give me a still from one of a series of games I’ve played years ago, and it’s a lottery to guess the right instalment.

 

Moral: I prefer films to games.
