Star Wars: Jedi Survivor from Respawn

I really should replay the original - I last played it at 30 fps on my XB1, so might be worth another playthrough on my Series X on the shiny OLED.

If they can eradicate lots of annoying features from the first game, this could be amazing.  Certainly looks excellent.

Fallen Order was a classic "really good first attempt let's nail it on the second go around" and signs from that trailer are really promising. Days Gone was a similar prospect, or at least it could have been if the "woke leftist games me- *parp*

Great trailer. Really looking forward to this one.

Very pleased to see this looking so good. The face capture looks even better, and it was good before.

If the levels could be a little more wide linear, or at least disguise their corridor nature a little better, it’ll address my only complaint with the first one.

Perfect trailer. Showcasing the essentials but clearly keeping the big stuff for us to enjoy when we play it. Hopefully there is a better wardrobe selection this time round as wide selection of horribly coloured Ponchos is not going to cut it!

Should we be concerned as to where this now fits with the canon or is this to be treated completely in isolation from everything else ‘out there’? I imagine it’s the kind of thing they will actually handle really well if they need to.

My boy is going to lose his fucking mind when I show him this!

I hope they can push the Jedi skills to bring it up to Dishonored-levels of being able to mix it up and fuck with the AI. It certainly looks like that's what they're going for with the trailer.

I’d actually rather they focussed more on the melee combat and made it deeper and more skill based on certain difficulty levels. The parry and dodge stuff in the first game all felt very loose compared to something like Sekiro, so lean things a bit more toward that level of technical beauty and it will be perfect.

That’s Ezra from Rebels, right? Looks like he could be a playable character.

A blaster skin is included in the preorder bonus, guess there’s going to be some shooting in this too.

Hopefully they spend more than 50p on the wookies this time, too.

I think they could quite easily do both - have one-hit kill enemies like battle droids and regular stormtroopers with ranged weapons who can be thrown about like ragdolls and be used against each other, but then more in-depth melee complexity for tougher enemies that can absorb / deflect lightsaber strikes.

The guy who fights with our beloved protagonist Poindexter McBland in a couple of sequences there? I'm pretty sure that's not Ezra, he doesn't look much like him and is called Bode in the trailer. A new character I assume. (Plus the hunt for Ezra looks like it's going to be the focus of the new Ahsoka series, I can't see them spoiling that in a videogame before it's even out).

Very much up for this though, first game was great and this looks even better.

In my head I have a lightsaber battle happening like the final boss in Sekiro, where the level of craft in the sword combat is as good as anything they’ve ever put in a movie.

Throw in Metal Gear Rising's freeform slice-and-dice on mechanical enemies as well.

I hope this caters more to people not familiar with all of the lore. The original was exceedingly bland for me, nothing emotional or remotely interesting hit the mark.

Theory: Look, it's [CHARACTER] from [MEDIA]. How cool is that!

Reality: It's just a boring man I need to fight.

To be honest, expecting anything Star Wars not to heavily refer to the lore is a bit implausible.

This game will heavily thread with plots directly connected to the Prequels and the Original Trilogy and I expect there will be locations, races and characters from the franchise littered all over (we get a Wampa in the trailer as an example).

The Empire and Vader are obviously going to feature, as is the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance and I'm sure it will tie in with recent stuff like Obi Wan, seeing as they are set in the same timeframe.

What's a Wampa? What's Rebel Alliance? I know who Obi Wan from the prequels is but never seen the show. Well, once this hits PS+ I'll give it a shot. I'm clearly no the target audience.

Is somebody forcing you to play Star Wars games at blasterpoint?

(A 'blaster' is a gun in the SW (Star Wars) Universe!)
