No, most if not all SW games I played stand on their own. KOTOR, TOR, the ones on GameCube, the shooters on PS2 (something Rogue I think. With the white armour with blue markings). But I get your point, I'm clearly not the target audience for the original and possibly this sequel.

I think games like KOTOR stand alone more because of their setting and being away from the film era. The Jedi Fallen Order games are smack bang in the middle of the Empire era, a period that is getting heavy coverage and lore expansion through the various Disney + shows at the moment (Obi Wan, Bad Batch, Andor etc) so interconnectivity is key.

The other game you mention is probably Rogue Squadron which isn't as story focussed, being more about the individual missions and blowing shit up. BTW, Rogue Squadron were part of the Rebel Alliance (against the Empire).

KOTOR had tons of Star Wars lore in it, you had the results of the Exar Kun thing going on in the background.

You had the Vong being mentioned

See, I did not know that so thanks for the insight and explanation. All I know recognize is stuff from the 9 movies.

The developers of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are listening to the fans and are adding a much-requested feature: fast travel. Jedi: Fallen Order required players to backtrack through much of the levels to visit places they may have already been

Didn't realise that this was current gen only. Excellent; hope they take full advantage.

I wonder how many force abilities he will have conveniently forgotten at the beginning of the game. Obviously, they will include some kind of progression, but it'd be nice not to have a near full reset at the start. The last game improved steadily the more powers you got.

He runs like Saru from Star Trek: Discovery, very gangly.

I enjoyed the first game, apart from the wall running (which is still there according to this video). I'll definitely get this but probably wait till it drops to £40.

He gets through the ‘hide the loading’ crack in the wall very quickly.

Yeah it's a fucking great game. You may want to drop the difficultly as some of the Boss fights can be quite the difficulty spike.

Yep, I remember having to watch YouTube videos for tips and still struggling.

That video makes it look pretty fantastic, although the combination of Cal Kestis' stubble and the way he goes around slaughtering wild animals that seem to be mostly minding their own business makes it look like a kind of Prince Harry game.

I’m impressed, the combat looks a lot more dynamic to me. High hopes for this!

Guys, can someone tell me about the importance of the shrubbery and the rocks? Does it play an important role in the lore? As someone only familiar with the 9 movies I fear I might miss out.

Very relevant.

Obi Wan is 'lost' in the desert like Moses.

The firey corpses of Luke's aunt and uncle are basically the burning bush.

Obi Wan leads young Skywalker from the desert.

He makes Ray/Rey every Jedi, and so he brings them all back.

From a certain point of view.

Bought the original on release and rinsed it. But with RE4 a week before and Zelda a week after, and the track record of EA practically forcing you to have this at half price or free on both subscription services within 3 months of release, gonna miss out. Happy they added fast travel though - 1st game was close to unreplayable. I think my saved game is him still stuck in a ditch somewhere.
