Yeah boi! After hearing @elmo go on about this it sounds perfect for my current situation as I have so much free time and am not really with it enough for shit like Hitman. Downloaded the PS5 version and can't wait to get stuck in!

It’s the most undemanding game… but also so, so compulsively addictive. There is a moment of stress when you see the objects caked in grime, but that soon subsides as you realise you get to clean it. And the levels look pristine once you get washing. It’s a beautifully calming way to while away hours.

Genuinely, and not in an ooh jump on a trend way because it’s doing something wacky or fleetingly novel, it’s one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played in the last decade, if not longer.

My mum the other day was talking about getting a man to come and power wash the moss etc off paving stones in the house she's just moved into.

Having loved this game I told her I'd do it 😂

But, but... That's actually real work.

Agreed - although I think it does dole out other moments of stress (in a good way/challenge), especially on the bigger levels when you are either

1) How much is left a) in general or b) a particularly big thing to clean that isn't that easy

2) Where the fuck is the last bit of dirt or the last thing I need to clean.

I hate you all. Just reinstalled this on my Steam Deck and I already have a job as a mechanic and a long distance lorry driver.

It is so so cathartic though isn't it

I bought this earlier figuring it'll be good for a quick 20 minutes here and there to switch off, ended up nearly 3 hours in getting the back garden pristine. I'm not sure who lives in that house or what they're up to but I want no part of it.

  • moosegrinder changed the title to Power Wash Simulator - Midgar Special Pack March 2nd

Very nice, I'll jump in and play through all the DLC then.

Can you put grag in the freezer on croft manner? If so I'm in

Is the gnome already in the freezer in croft manor? That's what I want to know

  • 2 weeks later...

Really enjoyed both DLCs, particularly as they were seemingly pitched for mid-game so the green nozzle on the Vista PRO took off the dirt in one-go. I'd have thought they would have experimented with a little more oddness or new mechanics but, outside of the maze PGWR in Tomb Raider, it was all relatively conventional. Not a complaint mind you.

Looking forward to the Only Fools & Horses pack, whenever that comes.

How did you lot manage to clean the top of the fish statue in Lara's manor? Can't climb up there, my 'spurt' doesn't reach from the closest I can place scaffolding and the wee step thing doesn't give me enough height.

I'm completely prepared to be embarrassed by the simplicity of the answer.

The opening level, right? The trident nozzle reaches it I think, it should do with one of the extensions. I do remember scrambling about on the statue though so must have got up there either with a ladder or scaffold.

Just tried it in free play (no trident for some reason). You stand on the top of the scaffold and use the longest nozzle with the yellow head, do half of it and then move the scaffold round the other side and do that half. You just have to be slower at distance so you get better coverage.

Just clicked that as it is a DLC level you are probably expected to play it with the later unlocked washers/nozzles - I also cant reach the top of the mansion to clean (or the top of this cunting fish statue) despite being 98% done even using these techniques you both mentioned. My bad for jumping in just because it is there, I have only just reached the shoe house so will have to come back when I have more powerful shit!

I had a quick look last night in free play and managed to get the scaffolded close enough to hit the top of the fish with the white nozzle on the longest extension. Later nozzles and parts do make things easier; I did both DLC packs almost exclusively with the trident and a variety of extensions.

Could have sworn I got ‘above’ the statue but I must have misremembered, and instead hit the top with the trident from the top of a scaffold.

Finished the Midgar pack last night. Certainly felt more fiddly than the Croft levels but some good cleans in there, even without ever having played a single minute of Final Fantasy.
