Goldeneye Re-Make Developer Named...

They haven't released a game since 2002. I'm not holding up much hope.

To be fair they did Quidditch World Cup last year which wasn't a total fuck up. They are known by reputation for getting stuff done on budget and on schedule. So don't expect anything brilliant or for them to take a "it'll be ready when it's ready" approach.

Shame. Let's hope Free Radical Design are onboard somehow to give them some pointers.

No, that'll be Vis Entertainment... the place where I work. I had nothing to do with SoE, honest!

ooh, sorry to be rude/nosey, but you guys did that 'evil dead' thing right?, do you know (or can you say) whether the sequel is being done?, the last one was good fun.

[insincere Dave]I can't wait![/insincere Dave]

Incidently, Gibbon changed his page, so Goldeneye is actually credited to Rare now, not EA.

Well done Gibbon!

I've only started looking at those pages very recently. That fella doesn't know his arse from his elbow. And that's a fact. Do you reckon his main job is doing the travel pages or something and he does the games stuff for 5 minutes just before he checks his emails? ;)

Umm... Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup, and Medal of Honour Rising Sun? All those F1 games?

They have a lot of very bright, professional and talented people there, and they've hired a lot of new people lately too. Basically doubled in size. I expect good things from them.

Of course, it is unfortunate to be developing a game with the same name as the much revered Rare N64 game... that sort of baggage will probably do the game more harm than good.

From the "next issue" page of EGM:

"It's a world-exclusive cover story on the game with three names: GoldenEye: Dr. No vs. Goldfinger -- sequel of sorts to the best James Bond adventure ever, GoldenEye 007 (Nintendo 64). For the first time, you won't be stepping in the shoes of the British superspy. Instead, play the villain and take on 007 in this FPS that shakes up the Bond-universe timeline and continuity like a perfect martini...made in the Twilight Zone. (Where else would you see classic Bond fiends like Dr. No, Goldfinger, and even Oddjob going after each other?)"
