Leeds fans referring to him as Yank Lampard is the second funniest related to football that I have heard today.

How did we never get to Wank Lampard? Damn.

If they can't appeal to CAS then surely the PL aren't bound by similar time constraints, no?

I was just going off of some stuff I read that a lot of the contract law this involves has a six year time limit. I'm going to add here that I don't posses any sort of background in sports law or for that matter a very good brain.

Derby were docked 12 points and forced into administration (and a further 10 points) after a few years of relatively modest overspending in a gamble to get to the Prem. Looking forward to City’s punishment being a very stern telling off alongside something quite serious sounding which is suspended indefinitely.

(I’m not saying there was anything wrong with Derby’s punishment, by the way.)

It was them cooking the books that got them into trouble, similar to what it looks like City were doing. Not quite to the extent of City though.

It'll be interesting to see how the Premier League handle it in comparison to the EFL.

If Leeds have ambition, and can back that ambition, I'd try to speak to Poch in their shoes. He's 99% certain to die laughing at the idea, but why not? He's not working, he might fancy it back in England, and maybe Leeds have the money to make it worth his while, or give him a big project.

I don't think they do of course but I'm not aware of the money behind them.

Our owners claim to have ambition, so I wouldn't be surprised if they'd sounded him out. I have a feeling it'll be Corberan.

I think that makes 8 PL teams that have changed manager so far this season (7 sackings, with Brighton being the odd one out). I know this happens every year but it’s plainly a ridiculous situation. Obviously last year Watford had 2 sackings, and we could yet see that again this year. Anyone know what the record is in a season?

Also on the City thing, I firmly believe nothing will happen. They will worm out of it somehow.

Someone pointed out the astonishing coincidence of discovering that the PL were investigating Man City the very same week that the Government were publishing their white paper on football governance.

I thought their investigation has been known about for ages, wasn't it mentioned when the UEFA charges were going on too because they were saying the PL stuff was independent of that?

Think the record for the Premier League is 10, but not sure about across all leagues.

If this season is already at seven, there’s a fair chance of that being equalled with Moyes, O’Neill and Jones currently under pressure. Rodgers and Viera could also be outside chances, but imagine both are relatively secure barring absolute disastrous form over the next month or so or doing something stupid like losing to Liverpool.

Had to happen, I kind of like the guy and I think he's been unlucky but it just doesn't work.

I agree. I feel like he was just getting the team to play how he wanted, but he's had 18 months to do that.

If there's any kind of time limit involved then City will be fine. They can just throw lawyers at the issue and tie it up for as long as possible. But this article says "the Premier League does not time-bar breaches - there is no restriction on the length of time since alleged offences have taken place", which would suggest that if the league are minded to dig their heels in time is not an issue.

For me the fact that they've clearly tried to obstruct the league at every step from even being able to investigate should be enough in itself for a major punishment.
